If that's how it goes, I'd actually half-expect Chavo to win the ECW Title, with Edge's help, and Punk to go on to win the Rumble and challenge Edge in the SmackDown! main event at WrestleMania.

Chavo Guerrero finally earned his chance at an ECW Title Match this week when he beat CM Punk. He'll face CM Punk for the ECW Championship next week on ECW on Sci Fi.

- So now I think Punk has a chance of losing the ECW title like Noid said. Then Edge, Vickie, Chavo can form a stable going into the Rumble, and of course Punk heads to the Rumble match itself. I wouldn't be surprised though if Punk loses it next week, wins the belt back at No Way Out, and then defends against Shelton at Mania.

Hmm, it's weird shit. I think the most likely outcome is that CM Punk loses to CG via disqualification (probably some Chavo Guerrero antics, or Punk fending off Ryder & Hawkins and getting carried away and taking out Chavo with a steel chair, or something), and they mirror the Chavo losses against Punk's losses. Chavo loses by countout, Chavo loses by DQ, Punk loses by countout, Punk loses by DQ, leading to a "No Countouts, No Disqualification Match" at the Rumble. Maybe they'll make it "Extreme Rules", Ladder Match or even I Quit?

The next most likely scenario, in my opinion, is that Big Daddy V, who has not been added to the Rumble Match yet, attacks CM Punk after he successfully retains the ECW Title, and we get a match between Punk and V at the Rumble. Actually, that might be even more likely than Punk vs. Chavo where there must be a clear winner.

The third option, and my personal favourite, although not very likely, is that Vickie Guerrero's stable does help Chavo win the ECW Title, and we get Punk winning the Rumble (with Vickie's goons taking out Batista & Taker from the match), and then challenging Edge. This would probably lead to Punk winning his rematch against Chavo at No Way Out, and then the titles being unified at WrestleMania (seeing as they have the talent exchange going between ECW and SmackDown!, they might decide that one World Champion is enough).

I like options #1 and #3, but I just can't see Taker vs. Edge not happening at Mania. The seeds were planted all the way back in May.

I think an Extreme Rules defense for Punk is way overdue, and now would make the most sense with some nice build, since Punk and Chavo haven't had a pinfall finish yet. So I can definitely see that as a possibility, and I really like it.

To be honest though, Edge/Punk would be great, but being a huge Taker mark, and with the amount of build it's been given (and will potentially get) I wanna see Edge/Taker happen.

I definitely think Edge/Taker will happen, but I'm not as big an advocate for it as you. The build has been going for a while, but the way it has been developing on SmackDown!: It feels like the feud could be blown off at No Way Out in a Triple Threat with Batista.

The only reason I don't think it would happen, is if Taker gets too banged up. I read a house show report where he apparently looked really banged up after the match. If Vince does not feel like he can put the belt back on Taker safely, even with all Taker's pull, I think it would be decided to either have him sit Mania out, or just beat Matt Striker, Big Daddy V and/or Mark Henry in a squash, and go 16-0.

I can't even explain how badly I would mark out if that did in fact happen. Though it is a pipe dream, its still nice to be seen written. But I think the idea of Punk/Chavo in a NODQ/No Count outs match seems to be a very good guess at what will probably happen. I would love to see an extreme rules match, but this is ECW, I don't even think they know what an extreme rules match is (writers that is)

If Punk does indeed defend the Championship at the Rumble and loses it to Chavo, WWE would need (or should) explain how Punk got into the Rumble just minutes after losing his title.

I think on ECW, Dreamer should qualify for the Rumble.

Then, after Punk's match at the PPV, there's a segment where Punk's sitting in the locker room disgusted with himself, and Dreamer sits next to him and says "Go get your gold back. You deserve it more than I do." and Dreamer hands his number over to Punk.

I think it would be a nice "passing of the torch" moment for Punk and Dreamer, and after a 40+ minute performance in the Rumble, it'll put Punk over pretty nicely.

It's not very likely, that's true, but given an emergency, the WWE might just be testing the waters for something like that. Jeff Hardy came out of nowhere, and has been a huge success for the WWE, and if there's one thing that's been understated since the beginning of the roster split, it's that the WWE likes to repeat ideas on different brands very close to one another.

CM Punk is considered by Vince McMahon to be a future star, JBL evidently likes him, and there have been some suggestions that Triple H & Shawn Michaels don't mind him. CM Punk getting a second Mania main event placing would not completely shock me. It's unlikely, but not impossible-unlikely.

I think if they did, for whatever reason possesses them to do it, go with Punk as the Rumble Winner, I think it would be intended as a shocker. An "under the radar" type thing. As I said, I can see the WWE trying to replicate Jeff Hardy's success with the Cinderella story no one expects.

I'm not sure if there are any house shows scheduled after ECW next week, before the Royal Rumble, but if there are, I'd expect CM Punk to qualify there. Or he can wrestle a qualifying match on SmackDown!.

As much as I love Punk, being on ECW constantly for his whole WWE tenure doesn't put him in a position for such a high profile match at Wrestlemania.

At most this will lead to Punk/Mysterio vs. Chavo/Edge at No Way Out.

Honestly I think a high profile match is just what the brand needs. I think Punk should loose any high profile inter-brand match. But only after putting on an epic match. It could really ellivate the brand.
