Apparently Bryan Danielson's match against Kaval, which went about ten minutes, was the best match of the FCW tapings.

Really stupid tbh. Bryan Danielson really doesn't need another name, he's more recognizable than the majority of indy guys. But alas...WWE can't copyright Bryan Danielson due to it being his real name, so they give him a name he won't be able to use elsewhere.

I get their thinking honestly...because the people that DIDN'T know of him will laugh when Daniel Bryan gets future endeavor'd after a year and goes to TNA as Bryan Danielson and they'll think..."LOL TNA still trying to rip off WWE with that name!"

I hope not. I haven't seen enough of his work but what I have seen I have enjoyed. The way they've booked Drew McIntyre is the perfect way to book Danielson, whether he's face or heel, once he actually makes it to a show.

let him get in the ring and wrestle. Give him some mic time, and have hom go over some legit mid card talen. No squash matches against hometown jobbers.

I may be wrong, but I am going to suggest a hypothesis here: I suspect that the name change may be Bryan Danielson's idea himself. In the past, Shawn Michaels' boys have always been allowed to keep their real name. Lance Cade (unless Storm was around), Brian Kendrick and Paul London all got to use their birth names. Danielson has wrestled more than a few times for the WWE, and has always used his real name. Granted, it's not such a big deal, but previously, a few big indy stars have appeared under ring names.

With Danielson being the one to suggest he goes to FCW (and ultimately being involved in this NXT project consequently), he has sort of shown he has a mind of how to rub people the right way. Maybe the name change is a way of saying "Hey Vince, I know you'd let me compete as myself, but how would you like to trademark my ring name?" "How would you like a push, Bryan?" "No, no, it's Daniel now."

I could be completely wrong, but you have David Otunga seemingly set to use his real name. No doubt the WWE loves to trademark and such, but I could very easily see this being partially Danielson's idea. I'd love to hear if some sort of backstage story about this leaks.

I don't know. He kind of looks like an "Xavier" to me. Xavier Daniels for World Champ. Actually, that should be the WWE's trademark name for Christopher Daniels if The Fallen Angel jumps.
