I don't get it...one day the Mets look great, the next they are rendered inept against Wandy Rodriguez Pelfrey is now 0-7, which is a shame considering he pitched better than his line would indicate.

Thankfully, Oliver Perez is set to come back and pitch in the series against the Reds immediately after the break (probably displacing Pelfrey if Dave Williams does well on Sunday).

But the biggest problem right now is the offense. When we get Alou and Chavez back in a few weeks it should be much better...but right now its just a struggle. I'd like to see them bench Valentin, start Gotay, release Franco, and bring up anyone else.

I'd like to see them send Franco down when they promote Williams. This enables us to use Sandy Alomar as our backup catcher so we can use Castro in pinch-hit situations...the dude can hit.

Reed Johnson is back for tha Jays, this is a good thing, it should allow for a higher OBP in the lead off spot, I bet they'll keep Wells in the 2 spot for now. Mind you he's heating up now. Rios in the 3. See the 2-3 spots flipping shortly. Big Frank's doing ok. I remember how last year in the first half he was pretty slow, but killed in part deux. Hoping for the same. Have a feeling Glauss will get traded, I just hope if he is that the Jays get the right piece back for him.

The Yankees are just awful at coming up with timely hits.

13 inning loss today 2-1. Clemens pitched great, 8 innings and 1 run. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were handing the game to us in the 13th - tying run on third and only 1 out...and of course they don't score that run. Awful.

I knew we had the game lost when Vizcaiano came in. Should have ran with Farnsworth for a tad bit longer. Why we didn't pull a squeeze when Melky came to the plate is beyond me. Fucking 5 strikeouts for him. And he had a hell of a hot streak going as well.

I know the season is half over, but it seems like the Yankees will prolly not make the playoffs because in my opinion they dropped the ball when they went on that big losing streak after their big winning streak.

Vizcaino pitched fine, the error that Cairo made gave them that run. And Farnsworth couldn't go out there again because he can't pitch two innings in a row. He really is probably the least flexible relief pitcher ever, he needs everything to be right just to get through an inning cleanly. He can't pitch two innings in a row, can't pitch back to back days, and he has to start the inning (can't come in during the middle of an inning).

There were so many opportunities to get the lead but noone could come up with the timely hit.
