And the Marlins are apparently not getting a rep in the game this year as Bryce Harper has replaced him on the roster.

Seriously though I'd be more than content with a Jordany Valdespin/Scott Hairston LF platoon for the rest of the season. Valdespin is a spark plug and Hairston just has insane numbers against lefties. Much rather have them out there than Jason Bay.

Totally unnecessary. A guy spends 4 days preparing for a start, so for an umpire to throw him out after 4 pitches because he feels the pitcher is "showing him up" is a disgrace.

Don't think he should have been ejected but it was still a dumb move on Grienke's part. If that ball takes a bad bounce, he could have cost his team an extra base. It was a tie at the base anyway. Gotta give Altuve the hustle credit.

Jordany Valdespin is playing CF today. If he ends up looking even remotely competent out there I could see him being the primary CF against righties the rest of the way. Captain Kirk is brilliant defensively but he's come crashing down at the plate and has started to look vastly overmatched.

I hope Rizzo has a big game to close it out before all star break. He could be hitting .400 and carrying a 9 game hitting streak. This guy looks and feels like he's going to be one of the great Cubs ever.

Reading the Phillies' message board is hilarious. So many people calling for Amaro and Manuel to be fired. Saying this next year would be one thing, but when you're having your first losing season in a decade, the first in the Amaro/Manuel era, and after 5 straight division titles it's kinda laughable.

Damn, Niese had settled down nicely after the 1st inning but that Castro HR was the death blow. Even with the Mets' never-say-die attitude I can't see them scoring at least 7 over the final 3 innings.

46-40 at the ASB. Much better than I ever could have hoped for going into the year.

All Star lineups are gonna be announced at some point on Monday afternoon. Gonna go ahead and try to predict what TLR and Wash go with:

NL:

LF Cabrera
RF Beltran
1B Votto
DH Braun
CF McCutchen
C Posey
3B Sandoval
2B Uggla
SS Furcal

P Strasburg

Braun and McCutchen are the easy choices for the DH spot and Kemp replacement, respectively. The bottom of that lineup is just unbelievably weak. I hope TLR bats Furcal 9th as he should be rather than forcing him into the leadoff spot. With the pitching I still think Dickey should get the start. He's been the best pitcher in the NL, has an incredible story, and may never get this chance again whereas Strasburg and Cain have plenty of All Star Games left in them. But in any event I see La Russa wimping out and saving Dickey for the middle innings when division rival Carlos Ruiz is in the game to catch.


AL:

SS Jeter
CF Granderson
LF Hamilton
RF Bautista
DH Ortiz
3B Beltre
2B Cano
1B Fielder
C Napoli

P Verlander

Just a ridiculous amount of power in this lineup. I see Washington splitting up the lefties and righties in the middle. This one was a lot harder to put together. The only lock is that Napoli hits last as he really shouldn't be there to begin with. I'm guessing that Verlander and Weaver will be the first two pitchers in and Verlander getting the starting nod is really just a hunch more than anything else.

As an added bonus - if the managers announce their official closer ahead of time I'd guess Kimbrel and Nathan.
