I don't know... I mean what other developers out there has wrestling game experience besides Acclaim? and we see how they do with LOW...

Maybe EA, maybe Midway... who does the DOA games on XBox anyway? maybe they could? I dunno.

EA did great with Def Jam imo, so i think they are able to make a good wrestling game 2.

Team Ninja of Tecmo does the DOA series. I don't if that's a good choice, granted it'll be a great looking game. WWE/THQ possibly breaking up spells a sad note for gamers. Like when Nintendo and Rare split, and look at Rare, it's a laughing stock now. And Nintendo really needed their magic with the 'Cube struggling in the console wars. Then again, THQ would probably hook up with TNA/NWA, I mean it isn't the first time they jumped licenses (1998's switch from WCW to WWF/E). Long story short, we'll still have quality wrestling games, just not of the WWE variety. Which is sad because THQ with AKI and Yukes as done more justice than WWE's telecast production in the last 3 years.

I hated Def Jam.

I mean don't get me wrong the graphics were good and such but there is a certain feel when it comes to wrestling that the Def Jam series did not produce... and EA really does not look like a good wrestling developer. I would say they would be at least average.

When the jump was made from Acclaim to THQ things at the beginning looked bleak but still hopeful cause THQ did do wrestling games before. Now when you look at WWE games youthink THQ. Yeah I really wasn't thinkin Tecmo could do a great job I was just thinkin nice graphics. But anyway only time will tell in this situation. But if WWE loses THQ in this whole fiasco then you TNA is gonna pick them up and if TNA does then WWE will be missing quite a bit in the gaming world.

IGN's Sport section has put up some "Classic" matches. It's Bret Hart vs HBK in an Ironman match, Undertaker vs Mankind in a Hell in a Cell match and The Rock vs Triple H in a Ladder match.

Thank you. I hate that pathetic excuse for a "wrestling" game. Boy, would I have loved to have been a fly on the wall when that concept was pitched.

damn, it only got an 8.4 on IGN!!

the reasons they stated were

-Online mode didn't have enough features
-Only 1 Backstage area
-Easy A.I.
-Season is more linear than last year
-No alternate attires
-No stat tracking in season
-Less wrestlers than in hctp

that's all i can remember.. it's a 5 page review

this game is still gonna kick ass, they were just really dissapointed with the online mode, if online mode wasn't there at all i'm pretty sure the game would have gotten at least 9

I dunno. I'm not expecting more than a 8.9 out of this game, really...
and online really isn't all that important...but gameplay is.

The improved Royal Rumble looks promising.

okay, i've made a more detailed list of all the negatives they said in the review, this is for people who dont' want to read an entire 5 page review to see why it did so bad

-online limitations (no official rankings, permanent online names, online titles, downloadable content)
-pre match challenges too frequent (when turned on)
-faulty weight detection (turnbuckle moves and specials that start on the ground, eg victoria's black widow)
-Easy A.I.
-Lacking Roster (compared to HCTP)
-Only 1 backstage area
-No Cruiserweight, Women's or Tag Team championships
-No stat tracking in season
-Season seems to be more linear, can't travel between matches
-No alternate attires (except for John Cena and 'one legend')
-Can't customize which guys are on each show in season
-Shorter Winning animations
-Bad Commentary and Voice overs
-No progressive scan and widescreen

The stat tracking and customizing which guys are on each show in HCTP was awesome, and why arnt they doing it here?

I kind of see why with those reasons above. The stat tracking and customizing which wrestlers on each show in season was awesome. I dont see why they didnt add that

Yeah, i'll still buy the game, but it's kinda fucked up if you compare it with HCTP.

Really hope they will do better next year...an online roster would have been cool...btw

I loved lookin at the stats. And the roster changin stuff. That was what amde that game complete for me. Created 20 wrestlers and one female star so that they can have their entire own show and then have 20 top stars reign on the other show. I loved it. BUt I liked the stats even more. Tryin to keep my people undefeated and stuff. Hope they have a history like you know results of past matches and stuff even though they took away stats.

Either way Tuesday mornin I'm walkin with that game.

BTW Gamingring has a video up of the first 4 weeks of season mode. I'm tempted to watch it, but then I really dont want season mode spoiled.

Don't buy it. It gets boring after a while. SDvsRAW will at least satisfy you for a longer while. Trust me. I have GTA:San Andreas.

I think the Legend that has a Attire is Mic Foley as Catus Jack, Why because cactus Jack was the one that fought Randy Orton, but in the game it has Mandkind, so the legend that has an attire is Mandkind.

This game is going to be awsome. New challenge mode, Better storylines, voiceovers, and online play. Plus more.

I have a question. Would you rather have more matches and feattures like online and stuff. Plus a better and more storylines. Or would you rather have A BETTER roster?

Okay here's the Pro's and Con's from IGN's review, with something to counter most cons as well

Pros
-Online Mode is there, and runs very smoothly (no lag at all) and allows CAWs
-Gameplay has improved
-New things added to Gameplay to add variety and need for strategy/skill in matches:
--reversal meters
--pre-match contests
--chop battles
--heel/face meter (he said this was one of the best new additions)
--weight detection works 100x better this year
--Some Weapons are weak, others are strong and harder to use (ladders, belts)
--Finisher's are harder to get and easier to counter
-More/Better Legends (come on, Bret fucking Hart!)
-95% of Superstars, have their music/taunts and all their moves
-All the match types from HCTP are still there
-An Extremely interactive Parking-Lot Brawl match (he said this was really good too)
-Create a Belt mode, create and defend belts
-Create a payperview, instead of doing matches over and over.. you can just create a payperview
-CAW improved, three different attires (cutscene, entrance and wrestling), more music, more animations, you can even choose their teeth!
-The one backstage area is huge and interactive
-Graphics are a lot better, 40% more polygons, higher resolution, better textures, improved animations, new arenas, facial expressions, and lighting effects

Cons
-online limitations (no official rankings, permanent online names, online titles, downloadable content) | At Least it's there!
-pre match challenges too frequent (when turned on) |can be turned off
-faulty weight detection (turnbuckle moves and specials that start on the ground, eg victoria's black widow) | Still 100x better than last year
-Easy A.I. | Big disadvantage but was like this last year too
-Lacking Roster (compared to HCTP) | um.. Bret fucking Hart
-Only 1 backstage area | But it's huge and very interactive
-No Cruiserweight, Women's or Tag Team championships | So what? Make your own titles
-No stat tracking in season
