Man all this talk about the Battle of Britain between Leeds and Rangers back in the day reminds me of when CArl Shutt came off the bench to score a winner in one of their European games. Memories.

Yeah, but erm...you have to beat us to get in the Uefa.

I thought it was an equal game personally, Southampton were by far the better side in the second half, but Newcastle had the chances, so it was fair. All in all, a brilliant game, and thank god we got into the Champions League

Hey, don't get me wrong, I would rather that the team we edged out wasn't Newcastle, and I'd love them to get the Uefa Cup place, but I'm chuffed we're in the Champions League.

Newcastle's defence was aweful, especially Bernard.

I hope Darren Anderton can find a premiership club to join because if he stays injury free he is class and a top bloke. One of the best players we've ever produced but i dont want him coming back to us

Still have to qualify. You might get a really tough team for all you know. I don't know if they seed the qualifiers, but if they don't you could end up against Barcelona or Juventus

Get over the Rangers vs. Celtic thing because we aren't even talking about it here. As for Prso rejecting Milan, that's the first I heard of that rumour (which is all that is). Milan are meant to be after Tore Andre Flo though and that shows ambition doesn't it? You think Milan wouldn't pay their players more money than Rangers?

The only premier club Anderton will be season next season will be a Wilson 9 iron.

Doesn't matter how many Scots you played. They have to be good ones first and foremost. Young Scottish player of the year= Stephen Pearson. Says it all.

Doesn't matter how long Murray Park has been opened. Its been open long enough to reap the benefits of losing to Kilmarnock in the SFA Youth Cup just the other night.

Prso has no ambition. Simple as. Why would he got to a team that are in decline when he could have chosen another destination where he had a chance to win things and maybe improve his football. Money is what its all about.

Same with Boumsong. No one is willing to pay these players 30k plus. Not even Milan. Rangers are.

More fool them and more fool you for thinking its anything but.

Yeah Bernard was good going forward. Southampton had a great penalty appeal, and the lanky Saint should have been sent off. Good goals, good match, shit ref, Graham Poll got rarely anything right.

Actually if anything Graham Poll did you lot a favour, you'll mention the tall guy who obstruced Shearer when he was the last man, but the view Poll had it was a tough call and he couldn't be 100% sure. Calderwell pushing over Beattie in the box was much more blatent, and I am suprised it wasn't a penatly, as clearly it should have been. Not to mention Ameobi's handball.

Er Ameobi went clean through was pulled back and had the free kick given against him

The Shearer one was 50:50 I accept that.

Shearer didn't get a decision all night. Bernard got tripped up blatently scrabbled along the floor the ref played avantage when he was on his hands and knees. It wasn't like "big" decisions he messed up it was just general fouls not given. Even my scouse supporter friend said that he had a mare.

Oh and as for the penalty - Beattie went down mad easy. If that penalty was given so should about 100 other fouls. It was an infringement of the rules but if every infringement was given you'd have about 50 penalties a game. It happens at every game at every corner.

Graham Poll got everything wrong. Southampton should have had a penalty. A draw was a fair result. Both teams had plenty of good chances.

within the next minute Calderwell jumped for the ball and pushed someone down too, Poll had a shocker. You can see when Calderwell pushed Beattie over that he gave alot of force, otherwise why was Calderwell off balance once Beattie went down? If he wasnt pushing him hard he would have not got caught off balance afterwards,

I saw it on the first replay, but it would have been a tough call. Still, can't really whine about poor refereeing costing victory when you score a goal like that.

Given played rubbish yesterday, with dodgy kicks, its amazing how that southampton player didnt even attempt to whack the ball into the open goal, also giving Beattie that first goal on a plate, couldn't do much about bramble's own goal though.
