Pretty crazy night. Figured they'd do something but wasn't sure what they would do after the game. Glad they didn't lose though, would have sucked to be officially eliminated on that night.

The whole actors dressed up as legends just standing in CF for an hour was a little lame but the rest was great to see. Was pretty fitting to see Bernie come back for the first time in two years. It feels like the last game of the season for me now. Hard to fathom that we still have two series left.

Hopefully it gets a little interesting and the Sox get swept by the Indians. Or at least lose tonight.

And the Yankees are officially out of it. Gotta be honest, the way this season has gone its amazing they were still in it with so few games left to play. Can still look forward to Mussina hopefully getting win #20 on the last game of the season.

LOL Hank Steinbrenner is now whining about how the current divisional set up isn't fair. Funny, I doubt he would say a thing if his team didn't get eliminated. Going to Wednesday's game. Perez vs. Zambrano...seems pretty one sided but Ollie's usually a big game pitcher, so we'll see. It's seemingly a 50/50 chance on if it's the last game I'll ever attend at Shea.

Can someone explain roster expansion to me? How many guys do they call up, when and how? Never understood it.

Basically on September 1st, each MLB team is allowed to expand their roster from 25 to as many as 40, although I can't really think of a big league team that's ever called up 15 additional guys.

So in a nutshell, from September 1st until the end of the regular season, your team can be anywhere from 25 to 40 guys. It's a good way for teams out of the race to test out their top prospects since the minor league season ends in September.

The 8 teams that make the postseason then have to get their roster back down to 25 for the playoffs and they can adjust their roster after each series.

This Mets game tonight just about killed me. Easily the most exciting game I've ever seen live...and Delgado's grand slam has probably been the coolest live sports moment for me.

Yet....in the end it wound up being the most depressing loss I'd ever been in attendance for. Not being able to score the winning run against the worst reliever on the Cubs roster despite starting off with a leadoff triple...heartbreaking.

Should be an interesting weekend. I think/hope that Lou Piniella is well aware that the Mets are the easiest possible first round matchup because of their bullpen (and his team has just seen everyone in the bullpen and blasted them)...and so for that reason, I hope he plays to win each game this weekend to try and help the Mets in.
