you know Hank was being a huge sore loser and arguing that the AL East was a hard division and everything, but with the way things are, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some shakeups with divisions soon.

I originally thought it was a stupid idea to do the Shea closing ceremonies after the game in case they lost.....but I must say, seeing Seaver and Piazza closing the outfield walls of Shea gave me chills.

Went to the afternoon Sox/Yankees game today and saw Johnny Pesky's #6 retired. Too bad the game sucked.

Between seeing Manny hit his 500th homerun in Baltimore and seeing Pesky's number hung up at Fenway, I've seen a good share of Red Sox history this year.

The Mets have announced Jerry Manuel will remain manager of the team, which I agree with whole-heartedly. Every player on the team has praised his people skills...and truthfully, it's not his fault he's had to make a million pitching changes every night since Wagner went down.

I pray Omar Minaya's planned 4 year contract extension is ripped up. I think he should be fired personally, but if they NEED to keep him around...the Wilpons should tell him he's got one year to get a bullpen and make the playoffs, or he's gone.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry revamp his coaching staff...and pretty much everyone in the bullpen other than Joe Smith I can see going.

Really doubt he will get that much money. He will probably beat out Santana for the biggest contract for a pitcher but I would be shocked if he eclipses Santana's contract like that.

You gotta look at the positions on ROY.

Votto had a great year, but was on par with bruce, and they play 1B and OF and put up average numbers for those spots. Soto was the best offensive catcher in the NL. I think Soto has topped of and Votto and bruce will be much better, but Soto was defintely the ROY.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Mets didn't get a single award this year. Beltran MIGHT win another Gold Glove and at least be in contention for a Silver Slugger, but I can think of guys with better stats.

Outside of him, the only other guy with a chance at anything is Santana for a Gold Glove and probably #2 or #3 in Cy Young voting. I can't get the fielding stats up on MLB.com, but I have a feeling that if the numbers are close they'll give the GG to Maddux just because it's Maddux. Kinda hope Johan gets it though, exciting as hell to watch his starts.

The only way you could get info on this game was on ESPN radio, lived in the area and some channel had it on, or jump onto ESPN.com and watch the gamecast.

I figured ESPN would preempt poker or the college football game and put this on.
