It's funny to read the overreactions that Giants fans have to practice reports. Last week the defense was getting interceptions left and right "uh oh, Giants offense can't hang onto the ball". Yesterday they do a 2 minute drill to end practice and Eli immediately hits Brandon Myers for like an 86 yard TD "this defense sucks".

As if scrimmage results mean dick all. The 3rd pre-season game is about the only one I'd give any sort of shit about from a results standpoint since the starters usually play into the 3rd quarter...but even that isn't really important. Just stay healthy.

Obviously love Eli and I also love Peyton, Feel like all Giants, Colts, and Broncos fans share that feeling of "Manning brethren" or something.

But even if I wasn't a Giants fan I think I'd still love them. They're ice cold on the field but they never take themselves seriously off of it.

I love Peyton. Have since college. Liked Eli at Ole Miss because he was a Manning but then stopped liking him after that whole draft debacle. If I wasn't a Cowboys fan or a fan of any other team in the NFC East, I'd probably still think of him as a childish bitch from that moment.

Good Eli and Bad Eli are basically two entirely different players. Some of the throws he made last year were just insane. Threading the needle into triple coverage, all of the perfect deep throws down field, etc.

For quite some time, a guy like Brady, Brees, etc. could make a throw like that and everybody is all "see? those are amazing QBs" but when Eli does it it was all "what luck!" I think he's closer to silencing the doubters though. He has some horrible games still but I think people are realizing he's actually really good, not just a product of a good offensive scheme.

Yeah, I'm in a league on another forum but it's an offline draft over the boards, so we've already started and it drags at times. Anything before the third week of the preseason feels too early just because of the injury potential, but I guess we're all taking that risk.

QBs get a ridiculous amount of points in this league. So much so that 7 QBs got taken in the 1st round of a 12 team league. I had the 6th pick and went with Brady as Rodgers, Brees, and Peyton were already gone. I know the Pats lost a bunch of weapons but I'll trust Brady and Belichick to figure something out.

5th round is still wrapping up. But so far I've gotten Brady, Richardson, Cruz, Witten, and Steve Smith. 4th is normally earlier than I'd like to take a TE (except for Jimmy Graham and Vernon Davis) but it's also a PPR league so Witten's value is huge there. Richardson also catches a lot of passes for a RB.

How big are the team rosters since if he's still available, I'd suggest getting Shane Vereen as a possible backup for your Richardson.

CBS has him projected as a possible top target candidate for Brady along with a lot of rushes he'd get per game.

As a generality though, I really like fantasy talk as long as it actually kinda ties in with real football. NOBODY wants to hear "oh man my team I picked up x player in my league with these rules" and blah blah blah. I can see where the annoyance there comes from.

But talking purely stats as a fantasy tie-in doesn't seem any more harmful than talking about whatever boring off-field stuff is going on. /shrug
