For some reason I really want us to bring in Barton.

We could do with a player who can play the holding role (Sissoko isn't good enough) leaving Xabi as Playmaker and Stevie out on the right to knock them in and just generally do what he does.

I've never seen him play, only ever heard hype about him. Going to Wolfsburg then Portsmouth doesn't exactly suggest he's worth the hype, but we'll see.

I first saw D'Alessandro when he was 19 in an U21 game, probably the same one Redknapp first spotted him at. Needless to say he was awesome in that, although i don't know how he's progressed.

Managed to offload de Vries for the season, which is nice. Rob Earnshaw is going to Norwich too.

D'Alessandro will do nothing for Pompey, he wont be able to play good football with that team around him.

Italian football is the least entertaining of the big 3.

I dunno if you watched it in the end, but it was always destined to be 1-0. Fulham tend to play well at home and Tottenham are very good side, so a win by a goal was inevitable

D'Alessandro has had problems with Wolfdburg. He has been trying to leave for a while but he needed a European passport to get a move (no work permit in Britain and wouldn't be an overseas player in Spain or Italy). This is probably the start of his move out of Germany. West Ham and Man U wanted him bad like 3 years ago.

I seriously want to know who makes more than 30k at Man City. No way is Barton worth that. I don't even think Cristiano Ronaldo makes that at Man United.

Mikel looks a very, very good player, looks like exactly what Manchester United need in their midfield.

I think the feeling is that his agents are dodgey as fuck and have twisted his arm somehow, and that United believe if they just get him over there and talk to him, he'll be happy enough. He was clearly very happy at the press conference when he signed. He looked happy, he sounded happy. It was afterwards when Chelsea were reported as "furious" to have missed out on him and 2 weeks later when death threats were reported that the trouble started.

Fuck him. If you need to think about playing for Manchester United then you aren't the kind of player we want. I haven't seen a lot of him but reports are he is awesome. What I am saying is that his agents have exerted undue pressure on the kid, and Manchester United feel he does still actually want to play for them and they would find this out if they could get him to Manchester away from his advisors.

Nigeria is just a notoriously dodgy place, so chances are his and his family's lives have been put under pressure so the deal the agents want can do through.

Manchester United dealt with a British agent who has a valid contract with Mikel to represent him, but these other characters, like John Shittu, claim to be Mikel's representatives instead and they are probably in the employ of Chelsea to push a deal through. Shittu won't let it go because he stands to make a lot of money on a transfer to Chelsea.

Fowler was the top earner on 35k as far as I know main part of his move to Liverpool from a City point of view. Can't see there being many more on over 30k Bartons just a fucking cunt.
