Dodgers are interested in Troy Glaus, but they would have to give up a lot to get him.

Probably the big story of the day without the name Barry Bonds in it.
Florida Marlins pitcher Scott Olsen arrested saturday morning after refusing to pull over and fighting with officers. Here's the story. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2944588 Fun little game the Yankees had today. I keep hearing this Shelly Duncan guy has got some power and today he proved it. I think that's the last time we'll be seeing Kei Igawa for a while since he got worked over rather quick. News going around that Phil Hughes and Jeff Karstens are getting loose down at the farm. That's a relief. And Luis Vizcaino with another win. Wow. Matt DeSalvo is starting the night game tonight. I've got a bad feeling about this. |

Why does Fox have to interrupt every game 4 times to show Barry Bonds potentially hit a meaningless HR?

Yeah really, I hope we don't have to see DeSalvo again. Hughes or even Karstens can't come back quick enough for that #5 spot.
Tough day for the Devil Rays today lol. Giving up 24 runs on the day really can't feel good. And apparently the Yankees acquire Jose Molina for a minor league pitcher. Decent upgrade defensively I guess but really won't make much of a difference for the back-up spot. Cashman better have some plans for a bullpen if he wants to make a difference on this team. |

Shelley Fuckin Duncan FTW.
Where is this power coming from? I have never heard anything about him in the minors before today. I heard he played 1st today....How is his fielding? Could he Bump Andy Phillips to AAA. |

Some big news for Red Sox fans. Good news for everybody else who has a heart. Red Sox call up Jon Lester from AAA to make a start. His first since his cancer diagnosis.
Here's the details. http://x.go.com/cgi/x.pl?goto=http:/...072220&srvc=sz |

While I usually wish Cancer on the Bo Sox, It sucks it did happen to him, but good for him. Hope he doesnt help them out much, we still have alot of ground to gain. Big Papi getting dinged up was a nice start.
Sucks for Hanley, I really like him, GREAT young Shortstop with developing power. Back to Shelly, Ive have been scouring and still nothing about him. Not really any room for him if he keeps it up, he could be nice trade bait next year at least. The Yanks farm system has been much better the last few years. Not quite early 90s, but getting there. |

I would fire a manager if I was the GM of a losing club if my team got destroyed in 3 games like the D-Rays did the the Yankees.

First off, you dotn fire a Manager in his first year for a 3 game series in a 162 game season. Second, Losing to the Highest Payroll in History when your the worst franchise in the league is not that big of a deal. There have been bigger blowout series by other teams this season. |

July
Boston = 10 wins 9 losses Yankees = 13 wins 6 losses At this rate I don't think the Yankees would catch the Red Sox. Cleveland = 9 wins 8 losses (not counting todays game) 6 games back here, maybe a shot if they (Yankees) play .600 baseball and the Tribe plays .500 |

There is plenty of baseball left to gain. While it will be hard to do, its possible. Remember when Houston came from like 20 back to take the division and a world series bid. The Yanks are on pace to be within like 2 or 3 games by the end of the year. A few bounces here and there and they have it.

Yankees still have 6 games head to head with the Red Sox and they will just be the Yankees and win all 6. So really 2 months or so to make up 1.5 games
