What a fucking moroon.
Yeah I don't begrudge Sting, I think it's actually admirable that he's resisted any temptation to go to the big show. I just don't particuarily care that he's back in TNA either and I think their promo video was bush league.

I didn't even read the whole post, because if I read too much of any Tazz Dan post, I usually get a nosebleed.

I'm telling you, that was the Undertaker! Sting's going to WWE to face that one guy with the nose and that movie at Wrestlemania... can't remember his name though.

Yeah, that joke still doesn't work. Well, at least they didn't TOTALLY rip of the vid and incorporate a Johnny Cash song, so that's a plus for TNA. I guess.

They still utterly embarrassed themselves.

The more TNA acknowledges WWE, while WWE in the meantime acts like they don't exist, the more stupid TNA looks.

How does anyone at TNA not realize this. It is baffling.

I think like taker707 said Spike pays so much but Sting probably gets paid by Panda energy in the same way Flair does. $500k seems about right, its the number i've heard too, TNA only seems to spend decent money on the top guys, alot of the lower midcard and below are on peanuts or pay per appearence deals so they save money there.

Yes, we did.

Am I a cool kid for not hating TNA, but thinking they are ridiculous?

I haven't seen much of that promotion, only a few clips on youtube, but reading the results is sometimes enough to make me go "NIGGA WHAT?"

This whole "You just hate TNA to be cool" arguement is just as baseless as "lol TNA sucks". Aren't TNA too cool to like anything that WWE is doing? If it's popular and mindless to dislike TNA, then won't liking TNA become the cool thing to do? Is ooTin cool?

bullshit. again, what makes you think this? TNA has been around since 2002. Vince had PLENTY of opportunities over the past 9 years to take shots at TNA and he hasn't one time. You know why? Because he knows it's not going to help his business

I mean, TNA actually ran an angle where someone dressed up as Vince and mocked him and Vince didn't retaliate. he doesn't care.

This argument is getting a little silly because it assumes that people are shitting all over TNA just for the sake of doing it. Personally, I have wanted so badly to like TNA for YEARS. At least once every month I tune in to see if it is something that I would enjoy but time and time again they have proven that they don't really have a direction. They don't really know what they're doing. They bring in ex-WWE guys as a "HUGE TNA SURPRISE" every couple of months like those guys are going to single-handedly save the company and then they misuse them until nobody cares anymore. They tend to misuse them after they have those guys completely steamroll their homegrown TNA talent though, so you can't get into cheering for them either.

I think the main reason why people have such hatred for TNA is because they really want to tune in and be fans but they are making it almost impossible.

And this Sting thing isn't stupid because he turned down WWE. It's stupid because they ripped off a WWE angle like they always do because they have absolutely no creative path. This "they were taking the piss out of WWE" premise is ridiculous because they always do stuff like that, reminding us that there's a better product that we should be watching. The WWE doesn't even acknowledge their existence because they aren't competition in any way.

Sting vs. Jeff hardy is something new. Taker vs. HHH=same old shit, at the same fucking ppv. I don't see how anyone but James Steele can think HHH is gonna win. The WWE mishandled the Taker's return by just throwing trips out there. They had to run a five minute video on Smackdown explaining the angle. TNA ran a quick little promo with symbols that were "Sting like" in nature. I still say the WWE started it by running that style of video, deliberately trying to copy off stings flavor. TNA decided to get them back. It was a justified rib. Someone tell me..How would you announce the return of the Stinger a different way, that doesn't totally unveil who it is?

No, it hasn't. This board argues about everything in length.

Also, it's more frustration than anything else. Alot of us really want TNA to succeed but they're just so committed to be terrible.

Yes they can be frustrating down in TNA because they don't market their people correctly. They need to "Brand" their stars more. Each wrestler is a product and should be sold as such. That's where I think they need the most help. They kill off momentum too quickly. But they still don't piss me off like WWE does with some of their bullshit. TNA may have some WTF storylines but the wwe barely even has storylines anymore, unless it's main eventers. They have no tag division,no women's division. The IC and U.S. titles are meaningless, and they had to bring back the "Attituders" to make this WM buyable. It's like picking between a Shit sandwich and a giant douche.

TNA is horrendous. "Let's air a parody of an Undertaker vignette that only about 2% of our audience will chuckle at."

They're just pathetic. TNA needs to realize that WWE has never considered them as competition, which is terrible considering that TNA has had 5 fucking years to get their shit together for a television audience.

to say the WWE doesn't even acknowledge TNA is completely false
the WWE just do it in a smarter way that doesn't give TNA any publicity where as in TNA they know that the fans are aware of the existence of WWE, they are also aware that most of their fans watch WWE also.

When has WWE ever acknowledged TNA on-air and/or as part of an angle? TNA has done this COUNTLESS times. They do it so much it's almost like TNA is a rogue WWE brand.

There are only two instances where I can remember TNA references on WWE TV. Joey Styles at the first One Night Stand (which was obviously his own doing) and another one of the commentators (I think Striker) once made a veiled reference to TNA (which, again, was more than likely Striker's own doing). I don't even remember the latter one, I just remember it did happen.

Off the top of my head with TNA: This promo, VKM, talking about "those guys in New York" or whatever the fuck the flavor of the month term is, feuding over WWE hall of fame rings...

I'll say this: The 3-3-11 promo, in and of itself, could have gotten a pass and a laugh from me and I'm sure others if they didn't always make WWE a part of their storylines. But it's such a common occurrence that there is absolutely no excuse for them doing something like this anymore.

I like that TNA acknowledges that they are not the sole wrestling company in the world, WWE tends to either completely ignore other companys or refer to them as the Indys/Mexico/Japan or other generic terms, but TNA should only mention them in terms of former WCW/ECW/IWGP title holder or establishing past relationships/feuds.

i'm not saying that TNA don't reference the WWE alot, because they do and i almost facepalm every time that they do, but as far as the WWE are concerned I'm talking about things like, taking superstars off the alumni page when they sign with TNA, taking stars out of the opening sequence when they sign with TNA (hulk hogan and Ric Flair as an example), banning knife edge chops so the crowd doesn't say "woooh" referencing a star from another company, Bret Hart as the guest host on the night that TNA has their big monday night debut with hulk hogan, and of course most recently the wwe sign Booker-T and Kevin Nash a couple of days before TNA want them back as part of their big 'they v2' storyline.

now you might put some or even all of them down to coincidence, but i really doubt it.

They may not have acknowledged TNA on TV, but they've taken countless jabs at them online over the years. Television isn't the only media around, and WWE play more to the internet fans than we want to believe.

Now stop being a cunt, I'm not trying to say TNA is the holy fucking grail, but I think people are taking too much out of this promo. Whether 90% of people seeing it get it or not, who knows? I think the casual fan is still a bit smarter than what we give them credit for these days anyway. IMO It was an obvious piss take, I myself found it funny and have no problem with it. If you do fine, I'm not trying to get you to agree with me, so stop trying to make me agree with you.

Tell me another time when something this big as happened and they have copied it 100% down to the font they use on screen? Yeah I agree stuff has been copied, but that also went on for years when WWF/WCW/ECW was happening.

I agree here, and I do think WWE gives the shaft to the past when it's not a past they own. If the promotion isn't under their umbrella, they tend not to acknowledge them. While I don't agree with it, it's their right. They like to keep themselves in a bubble, and honestly, it's good for business when a company is their size.

TNA has arguably a more talented roster than WWE's, top to bottom.

But yeah, they're the worst thing ever.

I get why they do it, they dont need to give anyone free publicity, they gave a nod to ECW on occasion when they brought in talent from there but they were never really competition. TNA tends to put over other promotions, especially foreign, because they have a working relationship with them, but i think it adds credibility when they can bring a guy in and acknowledge that he's wrestled elsewhere and held championships rather than just suddenly existing because hes under WWE contract.
