You are missing the point. If he would have trusted his QB who had been playing well to get a 1st down instead of just running it on 3rd & long they could have gotten a 1st down and potentially put the game on ice.

True, but if you are going to call a suprise onside and fake FG...why get conservative in that spot when your QB has been torching the best defense in college football all half? Trust your players to make big plays.

No. He is a better recruiter. Not a better coach. Also, it isn't like it is hard to recruit at LSU since Nick Saban rebuilt the program. Remember, his National Title team was a 2-loss team in a clusterfuck year. You can't tell me he didn't have comparable talent to Florida and Alabama during their runs, but he struggled to beat them because they out-coached his ass. He got upset by Arkansas many times because he got out-coached. LSU is like Texas. Les Miles as won the division 3 times, won the SEC twice, and has one National Championship. Sounds a lot like Mack Brown. He has struggled when coaching "rebuilding year" teams who aren't just flat-out better than everybody they play. That is the mark of a great coach.

Maryland and Rutgers interested in joining the Big Ten with Rutgers already pledging to move if Maryland does. Only hitches are the ACC might vote against letting Maryland leave and the current exit fee is too high for Maryland at the moment.

It would be about the single dumbest thing Maryland could do. Go to the big ten and never be competitive in football and ruin their basketball program which as of late has been down but could be better soon..

Maryland were going to struggle anyways considering all the new schools the ACC was bringing to both sports.

Only reason they'd be leaving is because the upcoming Big Ten tv contract would provide them more money than the ACC one. They've been dropping sports because of budget reasons but probably don't even have enough to keep the basketball and football programs healthy.

Was thinking Notre dame needed Stanford to beat Oregon since it would impove them for having beat Stanford, but if k state chokes its more worrisome that Alabama could jump them even if they go undefeated and Alabama finishes out with just the 1 loss.

Probably going to end up being Bama vs Notre Dame if both take care of their remaining games. Maybe Georgia vs Notre Dame if Georgia beats Bama in the SEC title game I think.

Last time it was this close to a no SEC team title game was probably either 2006 or 2007 (whichever year had a Big East team as #1 for a bit).

Honestly the only reason I hate the SEC is because of the fans. They take such excessive pride in their own conference, to the point where they'd happily root for their bitter rival in the national title game just to prove the overall dominance of the conference.

It'd be like me rooting for the Eagles, Cowboys, or Redskins if the Giants got knocked out. Makes zero sense.
