I don't hate Taz on commentary but I'd prefer AEW shoots to replace JR with Mauro Ranallo in the future.

AEW has these peaks and valleys and I think they are on a slide downward since Full Gear, really since All Out but this winter season seems to again be a bit bland. It's still the only wrestling I can't bear to watch but it's not hooking me like it did a few months ago.

Why in the shit would Malister go after The Varsity Blondes?

The Cody/Sammy segment was fantastic btw, short but very charged. Cody playing the game now is fun to see.

Too many young guys on the card last night and too many stars left off or not highlighted properly. More Andrade, Malister, Archer, Christian, Darby, Baker, Lucha Bros, Miro and others all while Mox, Jericho and Kenny are out. Seems crazy to be missing that talent and not using so many other stars.

I'm not averse to giving talent a week or two off here and there, big roster to feature and all of that and it helps give people a breather both mentally and physically.

It is strange when talents end up in holding patterns without actually being written off though. Like Miro just being relegated to vignettes since Full Gear. I wanna see him truck some bitches in the meantime.

I think it's another example of the rankings/keeping track of records being something they should do away with. Wasn't a bad idea to try it but 3 years in it's more of a hindrance.

MJF covers up for not wrestling much by saying he "only wrestles when it's important" but the reality is it's because if he just racks up squash wins his W/L record would mean he has to be put in a title program even if they don't want him to be in one.

Do not agree with the face/heel swap punk and mjf did for this show. Yes mjf was going to get a big reaction, but between the two of them, punk and mjf are skilled enough to flip that reaction. Especially considering mjf is 100% the type of heel that would shit talk his own hometown.

As it was, some of mjf's actions felt out of character, and the whole thing felt off to me in regards to the overall narrative in the feud.

About Hook:

Minus: The Cloud Strife hair. Maybe it might grow on me in time, but right now, he looks like a discount Tanahashi.

Plus: Using the Dadmission. Overpowering someone for slams and shit might work on the likes of Fuego, but it won't look right for most of the roster visually to get away with that a lot. But submissions are pretty evergreen.

He might have the goods to fake it til' he makes it. I don't even mean this ironically. The only complaint I have is he's noticably slow and deliberate when he does everything where he looks like he's thinking about every move every step of the way while he's actively doing them. That going away just comes with reps and time. He carries himself like a BMF even though he doesn't really look it. At all. But he's got the swagger to run with that ball thus far, as opposed to Roman Reigns once upon an NXT run. Hell, make Hook a complete submission artist (not so much like Danielson using 800 of them, but something more akin to the whole Diamond Cutter "from anywhere"/RKO "outta nowhere" thing, just with tapouts, Hobbs can be the new Suplex Machine, and Dante can handle all the aerial shit. Starks can be the balance of all that.

Here's my one paragraph on Dynamite from this week: Punk/MJF war good, them flipping roles because they're in MJFs hometown was a pretty cool idea. Jamie Hayter makes any episode of Dynamite worth watching. Really like John Silver. He's the only guy in Dark Order that stands out to me. Wish he could have a more competitive match with Danielson. Would be fun. FTR/Lucha Bros my fav thing in AEW right now. They should do a whole episode match on Rampage with those 2 teams one week.
