yeah I would like to go to the superbowl I might try and go to the pro-bowl I can get tickets to it, I just need the time off... Not to mention I don't think the Pro-Bowl ever even sells out does it?

What are you talking about with the Red Sox? The Red Sox haven't won in like 86 years, and they finally win one, so that makes them the poster child for winning big games now? Indy with Manning haven't performed well in the playoffs. Odds are that trend will probably continue. It's not GUARANTEED that every team that plays bad in the playoffs will always lose, so that doesn't mean it's not a good argument. Godddddd.

To be fair, the last Colts-Pats game in Foxboro was pretty close, and should have gone to OT but Vanderjagt jobbed it up

If Favre can win in the Metrodome, I don't see why Manning can't win in New England.

Favre not playing good in the Metrodome is a myth, he is 3-2 in the last 5 games there with the 2 times as many TDs as INTs.

Yeah the game was close, but so wasn't the playoff game, and the game before that. Belicheck has Manning's number. Not saying Colts have no chance of beating the Patriots. Just pretty confident the Pats will handle their biz againest Manning and Co.

Plus, bad weather isn't exactly ideal situation for the Colts offense. Most likely it will be shitty in December/January in Foxboro

One of the guys said that every QB has somewhere where they play bad, which is probably right, I dunno where that would be for Tom Brady really

I think if the Colts play the Pats again in the AFC title game (which I am predicting is going to happen) i'll be more worried about the New England defense than the weather.

If they played right now though the Colts might take it, since I doubt Manning would throw 3 passes to Earthwind Moreland

It still stands that you guys are underestimating the Colts offense and the injuries to the Pats defense. I honestly think that if they meet in the playoffs that the Colts would win, but the overwhelming Boston presence on these boards makes me automatically wrong.

The Red Sox was just an example of a team that "can never win the big one" that just did. Ok, so that is a team and you want some individual players? Michael Jordan didn't win an NBA Championship until he was in the league for like 9 years. John Elway didn't win until the last two years of his career. I'm just saying that because he hasn't been perfect in the past doesn't mean that he is incapable of being good in the future.

You're still using pretty bad examples, but getting closer.

Jordan, wasn't in a big game, so it wasn't possible for him not to win it. Once he got a team around him they won.

Elway, still made the superbowl.

Manning hasn't won any "big games" and hasn't beaten the Pats.

As for the Pats defensive injuries, personally I don't view Poole as a big loss, he played over his head last year. Law is a huge loss, but may see some playing time tomorrow (shake the rust) and will be back for the playoffs.

As for not winning the big game, an example would be McNabb, although Manning doesn't even make the confrence championship game.

The reason your team analogy didn't work is first the Sox did win big games, they just never won the WS, but they did win ALCS which would = the AFC championship which Manning has never won and only been to once. Also, Manning is a fixed asset in the equation, where over 86years the sox players changed.

That all being said, Manning will be viewed as unable to win a big game until he, well, wins a big game.

If they get past Pittsburgh or NE in the playoffs, on the road, my view will change a little of him, but till then, he doesn't win the big games. It's also more that if you look at the big games he doesn't win, they're normally not something like a missed kick, or a blown defensive coverage, they're games where he doesn't play well.

I will say, in recent weeks the Colts defense has been playing well, and I can see them giving at team a good game, because if that D can force a mistake or two, I don't think any team has an offense that can beat them in a pure shoot-out.

Yeah the Colts D is starting to play good at the right time, I think if there is a year for the Colts to beat the Pats or whoever, this could be the year IMO

That being said, I still expect the Patriots to beat the Colts, but you never know.

Well Miami has a real good defense, but a horrible offense, and they got like 29 on the Pats, so thats not a very good sign. I assume that the AFC Title game is New England and Pittsburgh though, the Colts are losing at home now to the Chargers, which to me is an indication that their hot streak is closing down.

Just because the Patriots and the Steelers are the two best teams they are going to play for the AFC title.. I mean I would watch out for the Chargers right now, and we will see what is wrong with Roethlisberger. There are two many good teams in the AFC to assume right away the Pats and the Steelers are going to the AFC title game.

Well Rain Man, I was kind of saying the same thing as you for the past few days but nobody backed me up so I was convinced that the Colts could or any other team could never beat the Patriots. As of right now though, I would say the Chargers have a better chance of playing spoilers on the Pitts or Pats then the Colts tho.

Even so, I don't think their defense will be able to stop a thing when it counts. That and I think the Chargers are more under the radar than the Colts.

No one said that no other team can beat the Pats. But when you look at the teams, the stats, the records and the fact that Manning usually chokes in big games, you have to favor a Pats vs. Steelers AFC Championship.

That's not saying no one can beat the Pats or the Steelers, of course, any team can win on any day, but it would be an upset, the Pats or Steelers would be favored against every other team in the AFC.

I watched the first 1/2 of the Colts game today and Manning was horrible, he was confused, making mistakes, whiney, and lost composure, it's the same thing that always happens to him in big games.

I didn't see the 2nd half, but by seeing the final score, he got his stuff together, this was a huge step for Manning and shows an ability he has never show'd before.

That being said, the Pats and Steelers are still the favorites and people will pick them.

No one is "assuming" the Pats and Steelers will go the the AFC championship, they're being picked based on stats, coaching, etc...

I actually didnt even know they won...knew they were playing the Jets but I haven't seen anything about it...

I watched the Jets-Pats game until half time, mad boring, just like the last time they played. Fell asleep during Cleveland and Miami too

I also fell asleep watching Tenesee and Denver, but to be fair I have to stay up until 5am to watch SNF/MNF, and i've watched like almost every one of those this season.
