Saying that, the whole Edge/Orton thing is kind of a rehash of the Carlito/Masters deal from last year, and that lasted beyond WrestleMania; they had their first match at Backlash. So Orton vs Edge is not set in stone, by any means.

I see Orton winning the MITB now, and ending Edge's streak as the basis for their feud. Bit of a waste though, because either:

a) Edge keeps his streak in MITB which is a waste, as he's already won it and doesn't achieve anything by winning again
b) Both Edge and Undertaker lose their streaks at Mania
c) Taker keeps his streak, but Edge loses his, meaning the lauded "Streak vs Streak" match will never take place.

Eh, it's a baffling decision anyway.

I could really give less of a damn about the "Streak" gimmick of the match. It's pretty sickening. I'd rather they just don't ever talk about it and let them wrestle.

I never expected him to, in fact I'm guessing the streak just came about by accident, much like Taker's did. Somebody realises the stats and sees they are onto something, and keep it going.

I do think that, off the back of Undertaker's run, WWE should keep the "undefeated at WrestleMania" streak alive as a gimmick, passing the torch from time to time. ie. Edge beats Taker at a future WM, then down the line Edge loses HIS unbeaten streak to another up=and-comer who has built up a little run.

Yeah, that crossed my mind as soon as he won it, to be honest, just because it really doesn't make much sense for Edge to be in that match. I'm thinking maybe Edge turns face before WM, and demands a match with Orton instead (or the other way round).

It would make sense right now. If the didn't have plans to pull something like that why wouldn't they put Orton and Edge in a one on one match? they have more than enough talent to put on a MITB match anyways. I think it could have some meaning. I don't think they'd end Edges streak, or have him win and not do something shocking with the win.
Of course this is all providing they are thinking.
