I read in the UK Nintendo mag last night that the Wii version does have an online battle mode.

It's probably old news but I was playing GHII on 360 last night, and discovered a neat workaround to tilting the guitar to activate Star Power. I accidentally hit the Back button of the guitar instead of Start (as I was trying to pause) and activated Star Power. So to those who weren't aware of this cool little workaround, there ya go. I would hope/assume this will also be in GH3, which is out at the end of the month.

P.S.--It also works when using a normal 360 controller.

360 controller/guitar equivalent:
Strum/Use Whammy Bar for extended notes = Left thumbstick or + pad up/down
Green = LT (Left Trigger)
Red = LB (Left Bumper)
Yellow = RB (Right Bumper)
Blue = RT (Right Trigger)
Orange = (A) (The “A” Button...)

Of course, though I'm not serious about any of those either. So don't believe me, just try it without the guitar peripheral, you'll see that I am indeed correct.

Fine, I'll just come out and say what Blitz has been alluding to.

Since Guitar Hero 1 on the PS2, the select (back) button on the guitar has ALWAYS done that. There, now go die in a fire Damninator.

Random question: on release date do they just have the full package (game and guitar) available? or will they release the game-only in addition?

I kinda wanna just buy the game cause my GH2 controller works just fine. I'll be pissed if I have to wait longer.

IGN released some vids on the game. "Rock You Like A Hurricane" looks like a fun shred, and the lead singer animations are actually cool. And some fan gets on stage and hops off at the end. Very nice atmosphere they got going. Can't wait to rock.

Also if you want the demo there is a way you can get it...
You download the demo iso off demonoid or wherever you can find it...
Then burn it to an audio cd...
I used alcohol to burn it, works perfectly...
Not sure if i'm gonna play it online though incase microsoft do something because its a fake copy of it...

Unlike Rock Band both versions are going to be available on launch. The makes of Rock Band stated in a interview that you can only purchase the bundle version of the game on launch day and then a disc only version will be released at the end of January.

Its kinda weird though because gamestop has all the instruments on their own the game alone set for the same launch day as the game.
