Fallout: New Vegas coming to consoles next year

At a Bethesda press event in London today, our very own Jem Alexander learned of a brand new addition to the Fallout universe. Fallout: New Vegas will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 next year, courtesy of Alpha Protocol developer Obsidian Entertainment.


No other details have been revealed yet, but we're certain Jem will lockpick and hack his way to as much information as he can. We'll feed him to the mutants if he doesn't.

Update: The title is "just Fallout: New Vegas. No number. It's not a sequel." For those worried this non-numbered expansion would be a party game, fret not. It's "definitely an RPG," according to Bethesda VP Pete Hines. Obsidian Entertainment was founded by Fergus Urquhart who, along with a few other Obsidian guys, worked on the original Fallout. The team was approached by Bethesda and "jumped at the chance" to work on this new title.

Sounds like this isn't an expansion but maybe something more like the origional Fallouts.

Broken Steel is out on XBL Marketplace. Level 30 and you can get past the main quest. I know one of the new perks is if Dogmeat dies you get another dog from his/her? litter of puppies.

Cocksucking microsoft.

Bought it for PS3, cause I was running out of room on my HD, and couldn't yet afford to expand it. Found out about the exclusive-DLC deal a few days after. They better release something for PS3 at some point.

Found DogMeat. He died 1 minute later, when he ran in front of me while I was firing a missle at a super mutant master. I am horrible at keeping followers alive. Doesn't help that they are fucking morons. Both dogmeat and alex died getting in my line of fire. Star Paladin cross was killed by yao guai, while I stood on the safety of some rocks and shot them. When I get my next one I'm just going to leave him armorless and weaponless at the deathclaw sactuary and get it out of the way.

Speaking of deathclaws, found my first one today. Saw a red blip on radar and danger icon. Calmly turned around expecting to find a yao guai, or radscorpion, or anything else that I was fully capable of dispatching at this point. Just about shit my pants when I saw the thing running toward me. Luckily the thing only had a quarter of it's HP as it must of got in a fight elsewhere. But still took a quarter of my HP before I could bring it down. Fucking 5 slashes from that thing could kill me.

There are rumors that they will make a Fallout 3 GOTY for 360/PS3 for Christmas with all the DLC.

Broken Steel is. Anchorage sucks from what I've heard, but The Pitt is ok.

Yeah, I'm really hoping they (Bethesda Softworks/ZeniMax Media Corp. will show some sign of Elder Scrolls V at E3 this year, because right now, it's essentially just a rumored game. And even if it was in the works, it probably wouldn't be out until Oct. '10 (i.e., 2010, not 9/10/9)...

Nah, that is unrelated. Elder Scrolls Online will be a standalone MMO. Doubt it will even be very related to the other games.

I just wish they'd put out other games using this engine.. Like a samurai game or the old west.. The possibilities are endless..

Haven't beaten fallout 3, but I heard the final boss is mad easy.

So if you do play the first two, don't expect the same. Fucking final bosses of the first two gave me nightmares, ffs. Literally. Not trying to funny.

You follow a Super Mutant Behemoth that pretty much kills all bad guys in the final quest and then, GAME OVER.. Huge disappointment..

Will creating another save file fix the glitch I'm having on the "Waters of Life" quest?

Long story short, after Dad dies and I try to leave the rotunda with Dr. Li, I enter the door, and the game freezes.. Apparently it's a widespread glitch, and I haven't gotten Broken Steel yet because of it. Should creating a new game fix it, does anyone know?

Avoid Giant Radscorpions, the Enclave, well armed bandits, Mister Gutsy's and Deathclaws.

Good news, there is an easy way to do this.

Bad news is that it's to sit in the vault forever, making the game a tad dull.

Nah, going to do weapons soon though. High def pack gives you a better looking map, and speech boxes. Which is enough for me.

At about level 9 now with 70 or so Energy Weapons, Got A3-21's plasma rifle a few levels back and am absolutely carving it, picked up wired reflexes at the same time. Sergeant RL-3 is making a great companion (target)

So I was playing and my game froze.
I turned the game off and let it rest for a bit and came a minute later.
Froze at the same spot. I try to turn it on again and I got the Red Rings of Death. I fixed it with the towel trick. Went back to play and avoided that area. A minute later, crash again. Red rings again. I fixed it again.
Weird part is I went back and played some of my other games and none of them froze up.
Anything similar happen to any of you guys? I have only had my xbox for a few months.

That Plasma rifle is the only energy weapon worth a shit..

Also, the next time I play, I'm going to count every time I find a book, so I won't level up past 74 on each thing (big guns, lock pick, etc).. There are 26 books for each thing so you can prolly get to one hundred on each one, if you watch your books and whatnot..

p.s. what is "the towel trick"??

You also want to make sure you don't read any books until you have the skill that allows you to pick up 2 stat points every time you read it, rather than 1 (educated?).
The towel trick is to wrap a towel around your xbox and let it overheat, a very temporary fix to the RROD. You're better off sending it back and getting it fixed.
