Shock is an understatement, Over the last 4 years it's been Englands worst performing side ever. I mean, I thought Ireland would of done better than them.
England did to France what France did to NZ though, killed their game, good on them.

Yeah France had no room to breathe. I must ask, how does it feel to be a Kiwi, to have dominated World Rugby over the past 4 years, setting your own standard that was superior to the rest of the world, where no country could even touch you. Then in the space of 80 mins, your 4 years of dominance just crumbles.

And then ask an Englishman the exact opposite. To be the World's whipping boys by suffering thrashing after thrashing by the rest of the World for 4 years, being labeled as the worst world champions ever, and then turning it on in the Quarter finals and finding themselves in a final again.

It would truly rank as one of, if not the greatest sporting achievement ever if they win next week.

It was tough to watch, especially as I knew early in the 2nd half we'd probably lose it, but I also remember the heartbreakers from 95, 99, and 03 very well, so it was certainly the easiest of those losses to take. I got over 03 quick as well, cause I was there.

The problem with the English is that they still thought they were going to win it, despite how bad their team was.
Our Faith was justified, it's been a serious 4 years and it's always been about the world cup. We had the best side in the world, had beaten all the NH nations convincingly, multiple times, had the Bledisloe cup and Tri-Nations. As well as beating Argentina at home a couple of years ago.
We had rotated our players over the process and had awesome coverage in most positions, and they were all ready to go.
We still had a makeshift centre, which has been an issue in the last 2 world cups, so it was frustrating it ended up like that, and I personally would have fielded a different side against France.

I was expecting a delivery of my new XBox 360 yesterday and was quite annoyed when it didn't turn up. Delivery driver turned up on my door this morning saying he sacked off work to watch the rugby. I wouild normally complain but fair play to him to watch some frogs get beat

I don't think many Englishman actually expected us to retain the title, semi finals would have done for me given the performances in the 4 years since the last world cup. Yeah there's been criticism of several performances since that time but that was pretty much justified in my opinion, it didn't mean to say 'oh we shouldn't be losing a game because we're world champions', more of a feeling that we didn't want to disgrace ourselves as them.

With regards to the how does it feel question - fucking marvellous It really beggars belief. If you'd have said to someone when we were getting battered by South Africa, and losing every away game in recent memory, that we'd make the world cup final, you'd have been laughed off the planet.

Quality atmosphere in the bar for the game too, body odour galore but it was just magic.

England will go down to the Springboks easily. All they need to do is score a couple of tries and the game is in the bag. Jonny's boot is nothing compared to 2003.

How many tries did the give away against SA the last time they played them?

I agree that they have had a strong defence over the last few games, but it won't be good enough on Sunday (or Saturday where you guys are)

Well ever stop to think that a lot has changed since that game? Who knows what, but it has been a drastic change. I can't believe you think that this is the same team that lost 36-0.

Good win South Africa, definately deserved this Cup, they have been the best side in the world (Besides NZ ) for the last 4 years, and I always knew they'd be the ones to beat.

I thought South Africa might freeze tonight as they'd had a relatively easy route to the final and hadn't been tested all World Cup really (though a fright from Tonga!). I thought England would have the better form going into the game as they'd had 2 tough competitive games that went right to the wire. But credit to SA they targeted England's strength upfront.

I've never shown good sportsmanship in a tournament that Australia didn't win, and I'm not starting now.

SA would have to be the biggest joke of a mob to ever win a World Cup (well atleast since september 2003 anyways). Been the worst side in the tri-nations for the past 2 years, and the only way that they won it was coz they were put on the easy side of the draw which was intended for France but they fucked up their opening pool game against the Argentines. Congrats go out to England for fluking another finals appearance, now we can go back to watching them be shit for the next 4 years.

But in terms of rugby teams, I'd probably say the Springboks. Personally, by the styles that the 2 teams play I would prefer to see the SA win, but it would have been good for them to have to beat one of the best 2 sides before it.
