Gotta give credit to the Yanks for slicing the lead in half in only a month and a half. If they kept it up then come the stretch run the Yanks/Red Sox would be bascially tied.

Really hope the Red Sox don't blow the lead in the AL East, they are the best team in that division there is no reason for them not to win it.

A-Rod should break the HR record, but I wouldnt be suprised if Ryan Howard one day broke it the way hes been playing if he can stay consisent and healthy throughout his career. He smashed the fastest to 100 HR record.

I doubt it. Howard is like 28 years old already.

Also, Kei Igawa is so awful. He seems to actually have the stuff to get batters out but he has no idea how to pitch here. Everything is up in the zone and when you have a weak fastball you will be crushed.

Phil Hughes can't come back quick enough. I'm not expecting him to be incredible or anything as a young kid but I'm fairly positive he can do better than the nifty 7.00 ERA that Igawa sports

Dang, if Howard is 28 years old already, even if he hit 50 HRs 12 years straight until hes 40 then thats only 600 HRs and would put him at a little bit over 700 for career.

Howard turns 28 in November. I really dont see Anyone breaking the record without the drugs. Arod is going to start slowing down around 600 home runs with age, and I dont see him having the longetivity of Bonds. Bonds would be at about 550 without roids. it makes me sick.

Hank Aaron was a TOP notch Power hitter, but more than that, he was consistent anbd stayed playing for 20 years. Not many guys can hit 40 a year for 2 decades, so I dont see anyone taking it. MAYBE Pujols in 15 years. He started YOUNG and averages around 40 a year.

Howard is too old. You have to get started really young. I mean at the pace Howard is going, he is going to average almost 60 a year during his prime, so He will be up there, but 755 or more? Never

One last note. IF Howard keeps up his post all star break form, he is going to break 50 again this year. He has the nicest Stroke in the league right now.

Sadly he got slowed coming up because the Phils traded for Thome. After he won ROY they sent Jim packing.

Barring any major injury Arod is going to kill 755. He will probably hit 800 home runs easily. There is no dobut.

And Ryan Howard is an MVP candiate right now. He's tremendous
