The announcement comes after Alstott missed a third consecutive day of workouts Thursday as the team prepared for its exhibition opener Friday against the New England Patriots. His retirement is reportedly not injury-related.

Alstott, who was entering his 12th year with the Bucs, is the team's all-time leader in touchdowns with 71 and rushing touchdowns with 58.

He is second in team history with 5,088 yards rushing and third in scoring with 432 points.

I wouldnt be suprised if the Colts give Tank Johnson a shot. He'll be cheap and they need someone not named Warren Sapp. I mean, they were lining up LB's and shit at the DT position and the Boys were destroying them.

We were 0-4 last year in preseason and had the greatest season in franchise history..

p.s. last night, the scoreboard did not reflect how good our starters looked on both sides of the ball..

Palko was looking alright against the Bills. This brings up something that is such a pet peeve of mine. Announcers getting all over a player's jock like they're the next coming of Christ. Whoever was in the booth last night for CBS were stroking this guy so much it wasn't funny. I mean yeah he looked good, but he was playing against the 2nd and 3rd string defense.

Theismann and Collinsworth do this shit all the time.

Palko did look aiight minus the two INT's.. I think he just doesn't have the "QB vision" yet.. Also, I don't trust left handed QB's.. I mean, everything changes when he comes in for Brees.. Does Jamal Brown move back to RT?? Etc..

Devery Henderson looked awesome untill he tweaked his hammy last in the first quarter.. Reggie looked amazing both inside and outside the tackles.. I marked out when the lined him up at WR.. Kevin Dudley, our second string FB we got off of the Falcons practice squad, is a beast.. Jason David won the starting CB spot over Fred Thomas but got burned by Roscoe Parrish like 3 times.. The rest of the D, atleast our starters, looked good..

Also, I f'n hate that Brian Simmons, the LB we got from the Bengals, is wearing the late great Sam Mills number..



p.s. Speaking of the Bengals, Kenny Irons tore his ACL and is out for the season..

It's horrible when an annoucer is blatantly pulling for a team.. Collinworth seeminglt hates the Saints (he always picks against us on Inside the NFL).. During the Hall of Fame game he was so far up the Steelers asses, you could barely see his loafers..

Collinsworth is great. He knows more about football than pretty much any other NFL announcer out there and he had to carry Bryant Gumbel's awful play by play last year. Theismann sucks but Collinsworth is money.

I could see him with the Browns (although that would be awful to Steelers fans,) I heard that they would give Cowher a huge deal that would not only give him the HC job but GM and President as well.

I miss Paul McGuire as an NFL commentator. At least hes doing CFB right now. I though Paul was hilarous kind of like a Heenan for the NFL.
