That Ronda-Cyborg rumor sounds terrible if it also ends up main eventing next year's Mania. Pretty much telling the rest of their women's roster that they are useless and not even Charlotte is worthy of being involved in what could be the most high profiled women's Mania match ever.

That HBK-Taker rumor is equally terrible since not only did WWE toss away Reigns getting the rub from defeating and retiring Taker at Mania, that star making retirement rub is getting tossed away again because of WWE's ineptitude.

This account nailed Brock at HIAC before it happened and a few other things before they were reported (like Bliss being out of MMC this week due to injury and Ember replacing her) so we'll see how their accuracy is, I guess

Impact officials have said the meeting wasn't about a sale of either the company or the library but they would probably say that even if it was about a sale.

Tetsuya Naito, EVIL & SANADA vs. Shane Strickland, Bandido & Flamita has been made official for OTT’s Fourth Year Anniversary show at National Stadium in Dublin on October 13.

Paul Richard, who has been the General Manager of New England Championship Wrestling for nine years, is retiring from the wrestling business and will be working with Christopher Nowinski in educating athletes on CTE. Richard himself said he was diagnosed with CTE and had nine concussions while wrestling.

David Arquette will be part of the Rise 10 show on 10/19 in Berwyn, IL at the Eagles Club. He will be attending a seminar put on by Mercedes Martinez, Rain, Cheerleader Melissa and Lexie Fyfe. It sounds like an angle where Arquette tries to join the all-women's promotion.

Bryant strongly admonished Kyros for his complaints being too long, having irrelevant or non-factual arguments and said she has told him over and over to rewrite the complaints, only to have them come back with similar problems. She stated that having him rewrite the complaints would seem to lead to the same thing. She also ruled that the complaints were time barred in that such a lawsuit would have to come within five years of suffering the injuries in question and almost all the wrestlers involved were long since retired when the complaint was filed.

"This is the same kind of drivel Kyros pawned off on former wrestlers when soliciting them to sue WWE by false statements that he had obtained a billion dollar settlement for NFL players and would do the same for wrestlers, when in fact he had absolutely nothing to do with getting that settlement. He was caught repeatedly making false allegations; has been admonished repeatedly by federal judges about his dishonest behavior; and has now been subjected to two different sanction orders of the kind that would make most lawyers embarrassed and ashamed. The rant he sent you now insults the federal judge who issued the decision, and he still fails to address the basis of her opinion. He may well have been able to mislead those he solicited to join his lawsuits, but he will never succeed in misleading us or federal judges. Frankly, he should be disbarred."

The directive at the time was that Becky was a ‘Stone Cold’ type of character knowing she would be cheered, however, we are told that has somewhat changed. Internally, Becky is technically considered a heel, although she isn’t generally being received as one by the public. There are no plans to make Charlotte Flair a heel coming out of this.

Apparently Becky's big heel move was the post-match handshake blow-off. There was supposed to be a few significant heel moves by Becky during the match but both of them worked most of the match as a babyface. WWE officials knew going into the match that Becky would be cheered.

So, are they heading to WWE?

The answer to that is no.

PWInsider.com has learned from sources familiar with the duo's deals with Lucha Underground that they are still locked into a contractual non-compete for that series until 2020. If Lucha Underground gets picked up for another season, they would work that fifth season. If it does not, but there is a potential for the series to be picked up before their non-compete ends, they would be locked in and not be able to go and sign with WWE. So, they are not NXT bound.

Kaci Lennox, who has been working as a backstage interviewer on MLW TV, has signed a deal with the company.

There have been talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling about sharing Brian Pillman Jr. with the idea that sending Pillman, who is still very early on in his career, overseas will help his growth as a talent ...

For those who have asked about MLW not having returned to Orlando at the Gilt Nightclub, it is not for lack of trying. The venue has had conflicting events on the dates MLW has reached out to book. MLW are now looking to run Saturdays, which are a big event night for clubs. Previously, they had been using the venue on Thursdays, which aren't as busy. MLW is still hoping to return there soon. There's a feeling that without the Orlando audience, they wouldn't have been in the position to get the TV deal and they really don't want to abandon the fans in the market ...

PCO, Pierre Carl Oulette, will be in regularly going forward.

The company is working on making Brody King, who made a great impression at the Wargames event, in as a regular as well.

MLW is talking with Sammy Guevara and working on bringing him in.

The plan is to make the Wargames and the Battle Riot matches annual occurences.

Rousey adapted quickly and Baszler could likely pull off a high-profile match like the Survivor Series match but it could be asking a lot of Duke and Shafir this early in their careers.

Regarding the rumored Flair vs. Rousey match at WrestleMania 35, the latest is that the match is not as locked-in for WrestleMania as everyone thinks, but it is definitely being talked about.

The Lesnar deal was not a last minute deal. During the week prior to SummerSlam, it was expected by the Lesnar camp that McMahon would make a huge offer for the Saudi Arabia show, as well as WrestleMania. Lesnar had not signed a new UFC contract, where UFC would have the ability to block the appearance, although UFC and WWE are not operating as enemies and UFC may not have stood in Lesnar’s way of making such a big payday if he was under contract. It is not clear when the offer was made and agreed, but it was several weeks ago.

The exact nature of the deal is unclear past that Lesnar is looking at signing short-term deals, feeling that with all the money both UFC and WWE have, that the more he’s free, the more he can play both sides and get the best deal possible

However, on Smackdown, the interviews were saying 60,000, meaning they are probably looking at closer to 50,000 as a real number. We’re told that a lot of tickets have been sold, and let’s face it, 50,000 for pro wrestling no matter where it is, is a great number, but there are plenty of seats available all over the stadium and in all but one price range.

WWE and Sky have had a long lasting relationship but there was a snag if you recall regarding the contract and the WWE Network. WWE never informed Sky about starting the network and Sky had just reached a deal where they would do PPVs of all the WWE PPV shows (previously they only did some on PPV and some aired on Sky).

One person in the company who would be in the loop on such things said that it has never been brought up to Rousey and without her approval it wouldn’t happen, and that it’s not something they think she’d want to do. There was legit bad blood between the two because of a public narrative of Rousey not wanting to fight her even though Rousey from the start had agreed to do so at 135, and continued to say that during her entire reign ...

While forgotten in history, the first UFC women’s fight in Anaheim was supposed to be Rousey vs. Cyborg. With the benefit of hindsight, history may have changed greatly. If they did that fight and Cyborg had won, the entire Rousey run never would have happened. Had Rousey lost that fight, who is to say the women would have ever drawn significant numbers since Cyborg never drew in Strikeforce after beating Gina Carano. Without the big Rousey run where she proved she could do big PPV numbers, the history of women in UFC, boxing, kickboxing and WWE would be extremely different to say the least.

While excuses can be made, and those were the reason for the low number, there are season premieres every year and NFL big games every season. Last year's Raw during the same week did 2.91 million viewers, so that's a 19 percent year-to-year drop.

The show featured what will almost surely be the two lowest rated hours, hours two and three ...

The new Observer will go into more detail about where the audience was lost, but the big drop from hour one-to-two was viewers over the age of 50, which is Raw's usual largest audience demo. It was unusual in that the third hour was actually slightly up from the second hour by 6,000 total viewers.

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 2.49 million viewers
9 p.m. 2.28 million viewers
10 p.m. 2.28 million viewers

The company issued a statement today: "Liv Morgan has a concussion and is going through the proper protocol under WWE’s comprehensive wellness program."

She will be out of action until she passes Impact testing procedures and there is no way to estimate a time frame for that.
Would be legit surprised if she gets cleared for Super Show-Down and depending on lingering effects, even Evolution could be in doubt. Two big pay checks at risk because Brie is horrendous as a wrestler.

The names are not owned by WWE as they didn’t keep the trademarks active after acquiring WCW in 2001. In the case of Wargames, that allowed MLW to trademark them and use it.

What did you guys think of WWE’s version of ECW when it first started with One Night Stand in '05 (one of the best wrestling PPVs ever) and '06 along with the follow-up? Was it originally the plan to make an alternative to Raw & Smackdown or did you already realize from the start that it would eventually be just another WWE-formatted show? I consider that one of WWE’s biggest blunders and looking back, what was the purpose of bringing ECW back anyway?

The success of the first ONS led WWE to bring back the brand. The original plan was to book a show that was similar to the original ECW for the first few months then slowly turn it into a WWE style (Vince McMahon-like) product. Instead, they went to the WWE style almost immediately and the brand lost its fan base. ECW fans weren’t interested in a WWE-ized version of the product.

Broken Universe sitcom could be good if it's all Matt Hardy. Really think the WWE Network lacks stuff like that with it talent. Like the Kevin Owens Show and Miz TV should be nightly talk shows on the Network instead of throw away segment's on Raw and Smackdown.

Also wasn't impressed by Mia Yim/Jade in her time in Impact and they really tried to push her.

Cornette doing the NWA show should be interesting, just got it for free today.

Brie needs to retire from wrestling.

Enjoyed the first season of Happy and should be a good role for Big Show.

What do you guys think of the scenario?

I think your scenario makes perfect sense but I don’t see it happening. WWE has shown no desire to have any younger talent get a rub from Brock. He has destroyed all of them. Even when he lost the Title at SummerSlam, it was on a fluke. So, I don’t see them suddenly doing a 180, even though I think that they should.

Turner was responsible for bringing pro wrestling to TBS the early 1970s. Turner Broadcasting eventually purchased Jim Crockett Promotions in 1988, which would later become World Championship Wrestling. It was Turner who approved a two hour block of wrestling, which would go on to be WCW Nitro, to square off against WWE Raw head to head on Monday nights in the fall of 1995. The two television shows battled for ratings supremacy for several years.

After Time Warner, the parent company of Turner Broadcasting merged with AOL in 2001, Turner found himself with diminished power within the conglomerate. After being battered in the ratings for several years, along with massive financial losses, WCW Nitro and sister show Thunder were cancelled in March of 2001, with WCW being sold to WWE shortly after. Turner did not attempt to get back into wrestling after WCW’s demise.

Interesting that they've reached out to Batista and he'll be doing something with Triple H in his hometown.

I've seen several of the Twitter sources I follow mention Undertaker possibly retiring at Survivor Series against HBK

(and also that HBK will be back for 4-5 matches)

If HBK is back for that many matches I might re up my network sub just to watch him. I caught a clip of his promo last night about picking his bff everyday of the week, twice on Sundays. He is instantly the best promo in the company. I miss Shawn Michaels.

As I have said (and #1-wwf-fan has echoed this sentiment), and it's not exactly a bold prediction: Shawn Michaels is going to be the best worker in the company when he comes back. Remember how he was so good 2002-2010? It's going to be an even greater gap this time, because he knows how to promo, sell and will work wisely.

Rumored that the Saudi Gov. wants The Rock at the next Saudi show in April 2019 after WM to appear as "The Champion".

Couple that w/ those rumors of Rock vs Roman at WM35....and that the Saudi gov is willing to shell out $20 million for the Rock to appear...and Rock winning/beating Roman at WM35 is an actual real possibility.

I'm interested to see what The Rock's stance on that is. I had him pegged to win the Universal Title from either Reigns or Triple H at Mania (Trips wants that match and you know it), but working Saudi when he's dropped hints he wants to be President one day...it's dicey. But world leaders shake hands with pieces of shit all the time. It'll be interesting to see how that all turns out.

Lol if Rock takes the money and donates it all to women's shelters or something.

Raw lost to everything on the networks except CW and Raw was 16th for the day on cable, the lowest it has done in years ...

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 2.50 million viewers
9 p.m. 2.33 million viewers
10 p.m. 2.08 million viewers

There most likely will be matches with the red brand vs. the blue brand but Team Corbin vs. Team Angle is currently scheduled.

There's no word yet on when Angle will be back on WWE TV but he was temporarily written out last month when RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon forced him into a vacation, naming Corbin as the Acting General Manager. It's been reported that Angle has been training for a return to the ring, possibly for more than one match. It's possible that the Survivor Series match could see the winning captain become the full-time General Manager.

The footage is doubling as the pilot for a potential series titled "House Hardy" that would feature Matt, Queen Rebecca Hardy, Senor Benjamin, King Maxel and the others, including "Brother Nero" Jeff Hardy.

Word is that the content filmed is very much in-line with the "Broken Hardy" segments that were featured on Impact Wrestling while The Hardys were with that company. We noted before that former Impact producers Jeremy Borash and James Long, who now work with WWE, were working on the new project and it's said that the creative for this new project is very much being dictated by those who know what made the Impact content work so well.

Everyone in the U.K. for years has used 10,000 as the attendance with the idea Daddy vs. Haystacks sold out Wembley, but the actual numbers for Daddy’s three Wembley shows were about 10,000, a legitimate sellout, for the 1979 show against Mighty John Quinn, about 5,500 for the 1980 show with Daddy & Wayne Bridges vs. Quinn & Yasu Fuji, and 7,000 for Daddy vs. Haystacks.

Total Divas and Bellas being mainstream draws for WWE is pretty much over. Last season started the serious decline and the show never really recovered since then.

Basically the key is this. When wrestling was at its most popular two decades ago, it was usually about a 70/30 men/women split, similar to most sports. Due to the popularity of Total Divas, the women’s had audience increased while the men’s audience decreased significantly ...

What has happened this year is that Total Bellas and Total Divas have declined greatly in ratings, and thus, that women’s audience has also declined. It’s notable that this is taking place at a time when women are being treated as characters with more respect. The belief was that this change might help the women’s audience but could hurt the men’s audience, with the idea women want to see women treated respectably and as athletes rather than sex objects, but a lot of men watch the women only because they are hot and could care less if they could wrestle well or not. In fact, the opposite has happened ...

But the decline in Total Divas, probably because of the show being on for so many seasons and shows like that run out of steam, and perhaps a big part if the Cena/Nikki break up since it was their relationship that was the key driver, has led to fewer viewers, and that “new” women’s fan base is now declining significantly. The funny part of that decline is it came at the same time Ronda Rousey became a regular character on Raw, and she was a huge mover among women on her UFC PPV shows. That also says that while Rousey is popular with wrestling fans, that the Rousey MMA sports fan and older women fan base, did not follow her in significant numbers to WWE television.

The MCG holds 100,000, and the Australian Football League (Australian Rules Football, like rugby, not soccer) on 9/29 drew a number in that realm. With the stage, WWE would have legitimately sold out with 80,000, which was the goal. But 60,000 for pro wrestling, WWE’s largest crowd ever outside of the U.S., Canada or England, would still have to be considered a major success.

Lance Archer has been banned from doing his running around the crowd, drinking water and spitting it all over people ring entrance. He’s taken to social media trying to get fans to get behind him to get the decision changed

There is new regime in charge, not just Harold Meij as the new President, but also others that he’s put in key positions. The new people in charge for the most part don’t have any background in wrestling so there are things like some things said and etiquette that are different. They’ve replaced popular long-time officials that the wrestlers trusted and respected. The question a lot of wrestlers are asking is why a company that was on such a major business upswing has gutted the business team in charge during that upswing. Obviously the idea is to expand the business outside of Japan, but there is concern.

Similarly, the Takeover shows are the one thing in wrestling that isn’t broken and doesn’t need fixing. A key is that they already have one hour in the building before Takeover since they have to tape then next week of TV. So if they try and increase from 2:15 to 2:40 or so and go over three hours, you’re talking about a four plus hour live event, and that’s the night before a five to six hour live show

I prefer the former as The Bellas have played such obnoxious characters in every scene with Rousey that it seems to telegraph a turn. I don’t know if they go through with the actual turn on this show or save it for Raw, but there is a great tie-in with The Bellas causing Rousey’s first loss in the WWE in the same city where she had her first MMA loss in 2015 to Holly Holm.

Pretty much just a matter of time before Hogan is back on WWE tv based on WWE's recent actions. If the rumor about the upcoming Saudi show ends up being true, he's back by next month.

Seats 25,000 normally, so I imagine will be set up for 30-35,000?

Must be really low interest for the 2nd show considering the arena for the Greatest Rumble held almost triple the amount.

Then again, the main reason why the first show sold well was due to the government buying most of the tickets and giving them away I believe.

I don't know if they had more than 30,000 legit for the last one so I think this is a good. I think the card could be incredible if they let it be. Sure it will likely be hurt by the odd audience, you know if there are couches and shit and business meetings in the ringside.

It was around 60k but the arena holds 62k-68k for wrestling which is why there was a lot of empty space at ringside.

Even with WWE's habit of fluffing the numbers, probably was close to being legit as a number due to a mix of WWE not selling tickets directly to fans and government making sure the place was packed.
