That's bad. The move currently has a window after it when it's blocked for the opponent to get a move in. If it doesn't knock them down now, does that mean they could still recover before Zangief and get a move in? Unless he can go from connecting the Banishing Fist right into a piledriver or something but he couldn't before.

That's good. It was pretty bad when you timed that wrong and the opponent just moved out the way and you're left to just fly towards nothing or stand there running on the spot. Glad I can get out of it now, plus I'm sure it can be used to coax someone into jumping towards you (thinking they'll dodge you leaping at them) so you can do his oil grab.

I'd like this if it's true. I always thought his grabbing range should depend on the strength of the move. a light piledriver having a decently big range but a really strong one having very short.

Ken can connect EX Hadoken after anti-air light Shoryu. Being that I prefer light Shoryu and catch people often, I likes this a lot. Wonder if I can connect Gurren Senpuu after it as well.

Wow, that was the best session I've ever played. Not just from my own performance, but also how close almost every match was. Fucking great.

Roxer beat me most of the night, but towards the end, I went on a 4 match streak against him, which was great. I was just in the zone at that point.

First time I've ever played kalyx, and it went A LOT better than I thought it would. Almost every match went 5 rounds. He won the majority of the matches, but the gap wasn't that big.

My abel and Ryu are back in the form they were when I was at my peak in SF4. Maybe a little better.

And Juri. Fucking hell so happy at how she's coming along. (barring one brain fart against sakura) I even managed to hit her Focus Attack > EX Dive Kick > Ultra, which I practiced for an hour, and still never thought I'd hit in game. I almost caught kalyx with it a couple times, but I fucked up the input as usual.

I want to start learning Guy, Cammy, and Chun-Li, but my regulars are in such a good place right now, I'm afraid to risk not using them as much.

Is there anyway to access your replays from a website or something and share them online?

If not, they should implement that. Because just about every fight tonight was worth watching.

I enjoyed my brief time in the session. Never usually have voice chat enabled because I can never hear what anyone is saying. Had it on this time and I'm glad I did.

Two highlights that I enjoyed were both reactions of Funkys. I'm assuming they were Funky given what was happening on screen. When I caught him with the Siberian Blizzard and he kept saying "I didn't even jump!". Did you dash? Dashes connect as well. Anything that takes your feet off the ground connects.

What I really liked was the "WHAT!?" when I did Hakans U2 after the FA. Was laughing at loud. The best reaction to anything I've done to anyone in Street Fighter.

Cammy is still a weakness of mine when I'm not Zangief, it seems. Kalyx knows how to put the pressure on me.
T. Hawk is also a little tricky when he has his U2 selected. Forces me to play slower than I feel comfortable doing.

Your Juri would play similarly too! You should totally rock the light pin wheel and then hit your mk xx fierce pinwheel (or sweep) to lay the pressure. It's essentially like how I use Chun's arc kick.

Overall I see a lot of my tendencies in your style. We'd jump, retreat, or toss plasma consistently in unison. Fighting you was educational.

Yeah, just started using her a week or so ago, so I'm still figuring things out. Honestly, was anticipating a rough time against your Cammy and Sakura, but Chun-li was the hardest to deal with by far. Should think about maining her.

Chun's a recent addition and she's been very impressive lately. She's already a better weapon than Ken's inconsistent ass. I still think Cammy's my queen killer bee, she's the digital manifestation of my fighting game ideals. Mostly.

I'm not against putting Chun in the main seat of she begins being a true terror, though. Picked her up in TvC and will continue to MvC3 as well, so the 'relationship' is going places.

Chun got rocked by Funky's T.Hawk in one match. Totally shut down.

Just curious, but does anyone here have a stick? been considering getting one, because almost all my life, I played fighting games excusively at the arcades. Wasn't til recently that I started playing on consoles, and I feel like I wou;dn't blow so many inputs on a stick, since it's more familiar to me.

Yeah, it really makes a difference to the game. I got the Telken 6 wireless stick for cheap and even though it's not a high level stick, it makes the game more fun and improved my game.

Just remember that you can do the move motions a lot quicker, and if you do them full speed online, it doesn't register like it does offline.

And if you ever use MAME on PC, having the stick is brilliant to just plug into a Windows box.

One thing it will definitely help me with is the little dash steps. Just CANNOT do them well with the tiny thumbstick. At least not like roxer.

I've got Abel's jumping mid kick/cross-up to change of direction combo down pat, but now I need to try and get his tornado throw in there more often, because that is a DEADLY move. Almost takes off as much as some of the supers. A lot of times, I have a freebee oppurtunity, but I don't think of it fast enough, and end up doing a regular throw.

• Yun's Super is the infamous Genei Jin (Custom Combo) from Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. It has the trailing shadows you remember and he can Cancel the recovery on all moves, plus everything juggles. A few players were able to land combos that took off 40-50% of their opponent's life, and went up to 50-60% when they had them cornered. Also, this can be Super Canceled into off of Yun's Shoulder Attack.

• Ultra 1 is his You Hou, it hits four times, but the last hit is a Launcher. If the first hit connects cleanly, he will go into animation. If not, Yun does the other attacks anyway, like Makoto's Ultra 2. This has a very short range and does not hit on any Focus Attack Dash Cancels. But he can follow up an Ultra 1 with his Lunge Punch or Genei Jin combos, but only if you activate before you land the Ultra 1.

• Ultra 2 is a punch rush, if the final hit connects cleanly Yun goes into animation where he rides his opponent in the air like a skateboard, then kicks them down to the ground. This also does not combo from any Focus Attack Dash Cancels because of its short range.

• All Yun's specials from Third Strike are in the game. Including his Palm, Flip Grab, Dragon Kicks, Shoulder Attack, etc. Light Punch Palm is a fake, Medium and Hard change the distance the opponent flies away.

• His Dive Kick is great, like Rufus' and his overhead, Toward + Medium Kick, can crossup a grounded opponent.

• Yun's Shoulder Attack seemed to have worse range than you'd think. His Dragon Kicks also seemed to trade quite a bit, but the EX version seems like it will be good anti air.

• Yun has his Third Strike target combos.

• Some players have claimed Yun feels "sluggish" like Makoto in SSF4.

• Yun's Ultras do not combo off his Standing Medium Kick Launcher.

Yang

• Yang's command dash was in and crossed up like Ibuki's in SSF4.

• His EX Fist Slashes looked like a great move, crazy fast.

• He also has his Third Strike target combos.

• Yang's Ultra 1, Raishin Mahhaken, makes him throw out a single attack — if it connects cleanly, animation follows. If not, the ultra ends there — similar to Makoto's Ultra 1. This will only connect from close range only.

• Ultra 2, Tenshin Senkyuu, rolls forward along the ground and goes up in the air with a rising kick. If Yang connects cleanly on the ground with the roll portion, the rest of the animation kicks in. If not, Yun goes up in the air with kicks. This Ultra will pass under fireballs and it has some tracking properties. If his Ultra 2 is started while the opponent is in the air, Yang will rise up with kicks where they're jumping, but in this scenario it won't lead to full damage. This can be comboed into off of a Focus Attack Dash Cancel or Medium Kick Launcher for less damage, again it won't connect fully in these situations.

• Yang's Super is his Seiei Enbu (Custom Combo) from Third Strike. Works much the same way, but not as good as Yun's.
