Well the Tribe seem to be slumping and Seattle's doing so-so. With the way the Yankees are hitting the ball right now I wouldn't rule it out. Personally I hope they don't. I'd like to see Seattle in there.

I wouldn't be shocked if we came back and won the division. I'm not saying it's likely, but I wouldn't be shocked. Delcarmen/Okajima/Gagne/Papelbon is pretty fucking serious though.

We're pounding the hell out of the ball and we're getting Phil Hughes back, plus Joba Chamberlain could turn out to be our bullpen savior, if he can do Farnsworth's job effectively. Along with Brian Bruney that gives us a solid late inning core of Bruney/Chamberlain/Rivera. We'll have other fresh arms like Chris Britton and Sean Henn out there too.

It might be too little too late, but if the bullpen shakeup is a success then we're as good as any other team out there.

I like the Yanks chances over Seattle but it would be dissapointing for either Tigers or Indians fans if the Yanks got the WC berth and they didnt when they had sucessful seasons.

me, I think A-rod opts out and they let him go, they try to dump Damon and have a rebuilding year, where they try and move old expensive guys for prospects and then once the YES deal is done, come back strong with a big free agent signing like Santata. in 2008/09. to open the new ball park.

I would love for the Jays to make it. After the Yanks they are my 2nd favorite team from Childhood up, but its hard rooting for a team thats contending with your boys. But it would be nice to see some change, and if they pass Yanks, Maybe they will do what I want and ditch the age for a rebuilding year. Overhaul the entire organization.

Yeah, I agree he pitched pretty bad. But this is his first game back to the MLB. And I think Hughes lost it in the fifth not the sixth. He's gonna be back to his normal self by his second or third start .

I dunno, because not too many people are rooting for him. Sure Bud should be more impartial, but it's tough when it's a guy like Bonds. The Seattle announcers sounded disappointed when it happened. (I was watching the RedSox/Mariners at the time) The fans in Seattle mostly boo'ed the news, etc.

Anyway, now the big hurrah isn't the chase for 755, but the chase for 756

Well I'm personally against the authoritarian presumption of guilt in baseball these days and despite Bonds' character issues it's never been proven that he's a cheater so I'm gonna enjoy watching the most recognizable record in North American sports get broken while everybody else cries foul.
