The market's pretty random. Outside of certain missions impacting prices, the easiest way to make money is to blow up competitor's vehicles or blow up vehicles and invest when the stocks go down.

There's a slight chance GTAO will launch at midnight(EST) (like a game) rather than 4:30 (like an update). So just BOLO the next few minutes. If it's live you'll get an update after 12am, if not see ya tomorrow.

In any case, if it is live, we should join up and hope the servers do better than... well every major game launch the last console generation.

I was very interested in that scenario, glad they have a good work-around.

Character creations seems cluttered with the whole pick-your-parents thing. I would have been fine with simply balancing your starting stats and molding your physical look. We'll see how it turns out later.

Laughing GTA Online
With GTA Online starting today and with it living beyond GTA V, I thought it would make sense for it to have it's own thread for us to discuss news about it, plan activities etc and generally chat about it.

It's worth mentioning that GTA V single player story spoilers should be kept out of this thread because some people will be playing GTAO who haven't finished V's story yet.

I'm guessing everyone will be ready to go today. I wont be joining in until Thursday at the earliest.

I'm also guessing that someone posted the Beach Bum DLC pack in the GTAV thread. I've not gone in their since the game released.

You mean the choosing your parents and lifestyle etc? It's used to determine your default stats and probably your looks. I've not been online yet but it's what I've read.

Also, crews can have gang colours. I suggest ours be red and black with yellow trim, if possible. Based on the default TPWW banner.

Everyone seems to be losing their shit over the cash injection microtransactions online, but I'm not sure how to feel about it. Sure, it brings an element of pay 2 win, but it's not really a game where the cash makes you much better or the game easier. Have to see what happens.

Everyone seems to be losing their shit over the cash injection microtransactions online, but I'm not sure how to feel about it. Sure, it brings an element of pay 2 win, but it's not really a game where the cash makes you much better or the game easier. Have to see what happens.
Depends on how grindy it is for cash, among other things.

Rockstar says the DLC cash cards should not break the game, since you can't buy certain stuff until a certain level anyway.

Aye, it sounds like just a way they can get cash for nothing, which is fair, they're a business and may as well take stupid peoples money.

I was thinking that I wouldn't bother with the online, but I loved the heists in single player so much, I can't help but jump on purely for that.

Bigger problem right now is people are already reporting their game save files becoming corrupted after trying to connect to GTA Online and getting kicked out.

Created a character. Server crashed, didn't save.

Created another character. Game told me servers are down and character would not save. That's fine. Spent about 30mins with some randoms.

Now on another character. Don't know if it will save or not. All I know is the first mission won't load and I most likely have to start over again.
