Not verbatim, but Ziggler was basically working people while hurt. Manning up on Ziggler's part has nothing to do with it. I'd also just like to address the points Kaval was treated like garbage. Could not disagree more. The guy never really had a program going, but he was featured quite consistently on SmackDown! and/or Superstars, having competitive matches with former World Champions. He would team up with top faces and get pretty big victories. Yeah, they started him out on a losing streak, but it seemed as if the WWE were forgetting about that. Yes, the WWE should have had more for him. Yes, his relationship with LayCool was not exploited to the best of its abilities post-NXT. Yes, the guy had all the talent in the world to make it, and yes, he even showed on NXT that he can cut a promo and be entertaining when not kicking people's heads in. But Kaval ultimately should have had more patience, because he would have made it eventually. I'd say post-WrestleMania season next year would have seen him do a little more. Kaval is just seemingly frustrated with doing all the travel and basically killing time with the company. That's his prerogative, and more power to him. But let's stop whining about it. To be honest, after Bragging Rights, I think they missed the boat with a Kaval vs. Tyler Reks feud. It wouldn't have been huge or anything, but Kaval never even took issue with Reks beating him for his spot, and we never got a proper one-on-one match between the two, to my knowledge. I guess they wanted to push both guys to some degrees, but there is no reason a string of matches between the two could not have done both. Kaval would have bumped like a king for Reks, who is not at all a bad worker, and has enough size to add an interesting dynamic to their bouts. Instead, they put Reks into a string of matches against Chris Masters, who I do like, but ultimately led nowhere. |

Lol this is not my sock.
Kaval is your typical indy guy: bland on the mic, good wrestler, but who cares if you can't sell yourself. I knew this thread would have some douchey indy smark getting his panties in a bunch and I was right. Apparently Vince isn't doing a bad job because he's making money like crazy while ROH which as we all know is the God of wrestling and every single match there becomes the MOTY, can't even afford to do regular ppv's anymore. Kaval couldn't cut it. Back to the minor leagues where he belongs. |

ROH never did regular PPVs, did they?
Also, Gerty, you're just a backwards version of this other idiot. Kaval wasn't fired, the WWE wanted him -- he asked for his release and the WWE granted it. Also, Kaval's abilities are subjective. I personally thought he was surprisingly stellar on the mic and got quite over for a guy that can't "sell himself." |

If they really wanted him they would have a) gave him at least 1 angle or 2) made an effort to keep him. His mic skills are not good which is why he was paired with Laycool. I used to watch ROH ppv's all the time when they were on.

Brandon Silvestry (a/k/a Kaval) requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment after being frustrated with his position in the organization. The company's creative department was told to bury him after winning the second season of NXT, until a decision was made that he built up for a few weeks for an Intercontinental Championship Match against Dolph Ziggler at the Survivor Series. After losing at the pay-per-view event, creative was told to resume burying him.
Following his quick loss to Drew McIntyre on the Dec. 21 episode of SmackDown, he reportedly asked organization officials if he had any heat with them, to which he was told no. He then queried if they had any future plans for him and was told they didn't. He subsequently asked to be released from his contract, which was officially granted two days later. Silvestry joined WWE in late 2008 while reigning as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in Japan. Original creative plans called for him to adopt a masked character and feud with Rey Mysterio. As he was awaiting his call-up to the main roster, he suffered a severe leg injury in January 2009, which sidelined him for nine months. Creative lost interest in utilizing the program by the time he healed and he remained in developmental until June, when it was announced he would be a participant in the second season of NXT. source: Pro Wrestling Torch |

I do agree with Gabrolt that The Miz is a bit too careful with his opponents in the ring. He doesn't work stiff enough, so to speak. As Eric Bischoff would say about his match with Stone Cold Steve Austin at No Way Out 2003: "I'd rather have you give me a black eye than have the match look phony". Another example is when he took the RKO from Orton this past week, you can clearly see Miz (as he's applying a submission move on Lawler) looking around waiting for Orton to hit his spot with the RKO.
WWE should've tried abit harder giving Kaval something to work with. Just a little bit. Give him something that the fans will care about. They should've taken advantage of Kaval's "I'm too headstrong" attitude But at the same time, Kaval should've been less paranoid and more patient. Just work with what you got for now kinda deal. Try to turn shit into gold His mic work isn't a problem, nor is his look, IMO. He had potential to be "the next Rey Mysterio" for the next generation. He reminds me of a better overall package than what Rey would be if he unmasked today and how he was in WCW unmasked. You can buy into Kaval being a legitimate tough guy, where as with Rey, some people can't take him seriously as a rough neck bad ass if he turned heel and unmasked today. |

Did anyone notice that Kaval wasn't getting much booking but was still getting decent reactions, while Daniel Bryan has been booked quite well and isn't quite getting the reactions he should be? Oh, and by the way, what was the point in jobbing Kaval out to Chavo?

I always assumed that it was to show Kaval's growth from being a top indy guy to (eventually) a top WWE guy. Oh well.

It does bother me that he jobbed to Chavo, of all people, however Kaval was still getting a lot more exposure than his Season 2 cohorts (and thousands of other wrestlers) are getting and I think he was foolish to leave so quickly.

Shit I would kill for a jobber announcer spot on NXT! Much less a wrestling spot on smackdown... even if I was to be buried* until they thought of a way to use me, I would wait it out and keep getting paid to job.

Although I've always heard the Kaval/Low Ki has an attitude... Not really a bad attitude per se, but basically that he thinks he's amazing. While the argument can be made that he is, he still has to go along with what the company wants. His life. |

Unless Kaval pissed someone off REALLY badly (maybe with his attitude, as WWKD alluded to), I can't believe creative would be told to all-out bury him, especially since he got a PPV match.
WWE creative is ass-backwards, but I can't believe they'd do something like that where it involved what was disguised as a push. And yes, while he didn't really win, just being on SmackDown! and the PPV showed faith in him. |
