So hows everyone feel about Sin Cara's lighting? I like that the idea that it makes his matches stand out, but i think it takes away from the match overall, can't see things clearly.

Cena overcomes the odds, we all called it and expected it, my problem is Miz tapping out straight away makes him look weak and out of his depth. They could have had him struggle for a good 20-30 seconds first, at least then he would have looked stronger.

Well I've just watched the whole show now (managed to stay awake until the World Heavyweight Championship match) so my 2 cents are:

Liked R-Truth's promo and him winning the match quite convincingly - really hope they carry this on and he is next in line to challenge Cena (although I suspect they will go with Del Rio so I would like them to have him work a program with someone like Evan Bourne)

Zeke Jackson and Wade Barrett was pretty dreadful. Thought Barrett carried it as well as he could but Jackson's obvious limitations became very apparent. Can he do anything else other than a bodyslam? How I expected it to finish, can probably expect a re-match - yay!

Sin Cara vs Chavo was ok but some of the botched spots were just so obvious, no more than the finish. Could tell both guys were pretty unhappy at the end and it's just another example of Cara probably trying too hard or doing too much which I fear he may suffer reprecussions for. Would like to think Cara goes into a program with Daniel Bryan (God I hate calling him that) but doubt that as well.

Alberto Del Rio promo - what was the point really?

I would like to say that CM Punk is the single most entertaining guy on the roster. He reminded me so much of Ric Flair throughout that match and his tribute to Savage was pretty cool. Unfortunately he was all that I can praise out of a pretty bad tag match involving one of the worst workers on the roster right now (yes I'm talking about the guy with the tame Welsh accent)

Divas match - without an appearance from Kharma, I didn't really get the point of this either.

Great match from Christian and Orton. Easily the best match of the night and we can only that this is only the beginning of the story between these two. They could go for months with this.

Cole and Lawler was what I expected other than the appearance from Bret which was pretty damn cool. Now please let this be the end of it and take Cole off TV for some time and put JR back on Raw and let everything be alright with the world, at least at the announce table.

Miz vs Cena - I'm really split on this. I think Miz had a pretty lame reign as Champion. I firmly believe him having Cole in his corner didn't help and this match has effectively buried him as a main event heel. I get the idea that the hero takes all kinds of punishment and refuses to quit but it could have been a much more even match rather than Cena getting beat for half an hour before whipping the bad guy a few times and then making give up in a submission move after a matter of seconds. On the other hand it lets us go somewhere else with the WWE title (R-Truth or Alberto Del Rio please)

I would agree in certain circumstances, but to me it was a pretty appropriate reaction from the Miz. He was basically playing the schoolyard bully role last night beating up Cena with his lackey's help. But what happens when you put a bully into a fair fight? He becomes a coward. And Miz pulled that transition off beautifully.

I did like at the end how JR was putting Miz over as "showing a different side of him in the match".

Nah not worth it. Especially since people aren't actually against cowardly heels. They're just against anything that makes Cena look strong. Which I don't understand why people feel the need to mask their hatred for Cena and pretend they're criticizing the booking.
We all know you hate the guy. Just be open about it. Don't try to smarten up your hatred by claiming Cena winning makes the Miz look weak. The Miz looks better than ever. Just let the hate flow.

He just got jobbed out after less than a minute of offence. Don't really see how this makes him look strong.

Yeah, gotta echo the sentiments of many here. Great match, great story, ending was crap. Should have definitely chopped a few minutes off of Miz' offense and given it to Cena. That way he could have properly beaten the fuck out of Miz, making his quitting look more legitimate. I know he's a cowardly heel, but quitting after only one move in an I Quit match is retarded no matter who the opponent is. Makes him look terrible and negates the bad-assery that he was displaying the rest of the match.

But, Cena winning was expected and the right move. Miz winning would have just led to Cena/Miz Part 4 at Capitol Punishment. Time to change it up, hopefully Del Rio's turn now.

There are more ways to look strong than being tough in a fair fight. That's not what a heel is supposed to do. A good heel makes the crowd think that even though the face is the better man, the heel might win because he'll do whatever is necessary to steal a win. We all know that the Miz is a coward. We knew that before the match started. We've known that for years. We also know he's a cheater who takes advantages of oppprtunities to win. It has nothing to do with if he could beat Cena in a fair fight.

This is the most basic fundamental principle of professional wrestling, and everyone is ignoring it because they don't want Cena to win. But just because we're rooting for the heel doesn't mean the principles of the heel/face dynamic stop applying.

there are rare times when i think cole is actually funny, tonight was one, minus the whole foot talk. i actually like how him and booker react with one another often times u can hear one of them laughing or see them in the background cracking up. i lol'd hard when cole made fun of booker aster the "wolf in sheeps clothing" line sayin "he's like a lion in lions clothing, or whatever booker said" lol. i was waiting for someone to make a supersonics comment, which im sure has been done before, but with the success of the oklahoma city thunder this year, thought it would have been funny. also loved the pump fake from christian off the second rope, i was like here he goes, jumping off, then rko..but nope..was a nice add on into the match.

The ending could have been done better, but it didn't make the Miz look weak. It made him look like a bully who got put in his place. That was 100% in line with his character.

And besides, you know as well as I do that no one will care about how quickly the Miz quit after Raw tonight. Just like no one would care if he held out an additional minute before quitting.

Oh yeah, and the people who said they couldn't get into the match because they knew who would win are retarded. Cena/Miz (minus the questionable ending) and Orton/Christian were both fantastic bouts.

If knowing the outcome effects your ability to enjoy the match, you may as well take a hiatus until WM28 cause there's basically no way Cena loses the belt before then. And even if he did, he'd win it back in the Elimination Chamber or something. Cena/Rock for the title is something WWE will not pass up on.

If you want to criticize that match, the what felt like 5 minute promo breaks in between action could have been cut down.

I don't speak for the majority here since Cena could cure cancer and most of the IWC would still hate him, but I would have been upset at the finish no matter who it was. Just because of the match type. I Quit matches imply you'll need to beat the fuck out of somebody to make them quit. One lone move shouldn't do that.

But I digress. Still looking forward to seeing how the main event scene changes tonight. I think Del Rio might stay in a holding pattern actually so that they could squeeze in a quick program with Truth and Cena before Morrison returns. It'll also free up Miz to feud with Rey which should be fun. Del Rio to the WWE Title picture by Summerslam.

Believe it or not folks this has nothing to do with Cena. If it was Bryan, Taker, Angle whoever you want to name that got the hell beaten out of them, then no-sold all of it and made Miz give up in less than a minute, then I would still be saying: really? What harm could have come from cutting 5 minutes of the Miz beatdown into Cena beating the hell out of him for 5 minutes, then making him say I quit?

Red face

So how long did the beatdown last until Cena rallied?

Might have to check the Orton Christian match by the sounds of it. Sin Cara/Chavo any good? Can't tell from te thread vibe.

Cena vs. Miz was in no way a fantastic bout. The main event shouldn't be that boring.
I was pretty happy with the card overall, and like everyone else I think Orton and Christian stole the show hands down, but I'm just not seeing why so many people were into the Cena/Miz snoozefest. Maybe it came across better on TV? But seriously, it felt like there was more action in the Bellas vs. Kelly Kelly match. It was a giant promo that was interrupted from time to time when Miz would hit Cena twice. *yawn*

The no selling doesn't come from the bookers, and it wasn't a planned reaction that was special to this match. That's all Cena. That's his thing. He gets the adrenaline rush and becomes unstoppable.

So to say you'd be mad if Daniel Bryan acted like that is meaningless, because that's not what Bryan does. But it's exactly what Cena does and it's what he's done for years.

Again I don't understand why people refuse to just flat out say "I didn't like it because I hate Cena's style."

Outside of a few bursts of offense from Cena, pretty much the entire match was either Miz offense or Miz cutting a promo. Outside out downtime, I'd say 20 minutes.

Cena can do what ever the fuck he wants. He currently is the man in WWE. If he wants to no sell then, sure as fuck, he will no sell. If hogan becamse a legend no-selling then who's to say that Cena can't as well.

Would be great if everyone just changes the channel when Cena is on.

Oh, Bret VS cole ..lets see it on raw!

It should be mentioned that of that time, it was MOSTLY Miz cutting a promo. Very small bursts of offense.

As for the match with Cara and Chavo, it was pretty good. A few botches -- most notably the ending, which I think ended with a slightly injured Chavo as he limped out with help after the match -- but pretty good. I think it may have been a case of trying to do too much that led to the mess-ups.

I like the lighting in Cara's matches. It's different, unique, and it doesn't take anything away.

Yeah, I did. I was thinking it was a Batista match, but you're right, it was the Orton match.
