Sidewinder was the biggest map in the first Halo. It's been rebuilt as Avalanche for the upcoming Map Pack.

Yah now the Heroic maps are free probably gonna pick this up again soon. Standoff looks fun. And I have been thinking about recreating one of the old Mario Kart maps in Foundry

Foundry isn't the most easy tool to fool around in. Only now am I confident enough to make maps I'm proud of.

yeah just tried out your cqb ones, had a hame of hide and seek infection on the one and then the one with the barrels and cover pickups everywhere I had a game of slayer on, pretty awesome maps.

Never tried Infection on CQC Hall, I believe I'll give it a test play. Glad you like the maps, I'm brainstorming a fourth map codenamed "Tower of Terror", take that as you will. Can't wait to Forge Sidewinder!

Bit of a bummer that the playlist wasn't up from the release, but the maps are amazing IMO, had 2 amazing games on blackout, christ brought back so many memories, I love it. Ghost Town is pretty sweet 2. Haven't tried avalanche yet

I've had the most fun CTF on Avalanche that I've ever had in a Halo game. It's my favorite big map so far. Ghost Town is pretty cool, and Blackout brings back memories and I like the little improvements.

No. Tell the truth I never set foot in the site. I have heard alot and thought about uploading my maps there, just to see what they would think. They seem to take Foundry pretty serious.

Yeah, they seem to get shitty if you don't use every single Forge trick ever.

But yeah, CQC Hall was the maze kinda one right? I had that one I think. My friend deleted a bunch of crap he thought we didn't want, so I have to redownload a bunch more.

Mythic Map Pack:



Sandbox is basically Foundry 2, which makes it the greatest single DLC map in Halo 3's history. Anybody who enjoys what you can do in Foundry should be foaming at the mouth right now.



Assembly is a mid sized symmetrical map.



Orbital is a smaller map for FFA fare.

These maps come with the Halo Wars LE, but they will be widely available later on (bot that much later I hope). I've been getting back into Halo and rediscovering its charms. I don't play Rank as much since I'm not with my team anymore, but I've been Forging some stuff to pass the time.

My bi-weekly Halo group will be thrilled about Sandbox. All we play are foundry maps that we've made. We get pretty competitive too. I never play the game outside that, because it is not that great outside of friends, but I am going to be playing tonight and it will be glorious because I destroy everyone.

I used to play a lot of Custom Games (of my creation) with guys, then we play Rank for hours. But my offline and online comrades have dispersed and I have to meet new guys and all that. Just playing a lot of Social now - whipping around guys who think my skill level is what my Rank shows on the revised rankings. Yeah, the community is garbage, playing with buds is the way to go.

And given its accessibility and near endless replay value, I'm dumbfounded that Halo 3 isn't a regular get-together game for TPWW.

We don't do anything on live. It's all LAN. 2 bigscreens in separate rooms, 4 on 4. We usually have 10-12 people show up. We've made some pretty badass maps. We like to keep things simple while employing several tactics to get things done. Only a few of us are even good, so it balances out and makes for some pretty hectic games. We've had some last an hour or longer. If we do Avalanche, we've had games last an hour and a half or more. It is pretty crazy.

Aw man I am so fucking jealous. To me, Halo LAN parties are up there with sit-in arcades and a 7-man Street Fighter Alpha 2 session. It's an experience you need to have to really get the games involved.

Years ago me and the guys had a weekly tradition where we all head to a college none of us even attended and hijack their community room for some 12 man Halo LAN parties. We carried on for like 6 months right up until Halo 2 came out, then they found out about our little group meetings. Once they saw that none of us actually went to the college we were banned. One of the students did suggest that if we found some students who played the game they might be able to make it an official activity at the college (after seeing how interested people were after we were uncovered). I declined on behalf of the guys, citing that it wouldn't be the same if we went 'above ground' if that makes sense to you. I miss those days.

Ended up just being 8 of us tonight, cause of crap weather still and roads being icy. But I sucked it up.. didn't win a single game, but the last game was a custom avalanche ctf game. It came down to 4/4 and lasted a little over an hour. It was probably my best game of the night, but I still sucked. Was just having an off night.

Last time we had it, the place was packed, and I didn't lose a single game all night. I went +42 at one point in a game, with some 80 plus kills that game. Never went lower than positive 20 in a game that whole night. Was awesome.

We do. I wish I could get pictures of the maps we play, as they are some pretty great custom maps.

Last night's Avalanche game was epic. We made a game called 'scary robbie'. Basically, it's a 2-flag CTF game (flag at home to score). All vehicles at the base except for a hornet in the very far middle under that big arch. Blocked off the access to the cave in the middle except by the far cave entrance, and by portals outside it that take you in, but not out. Inside there was a custom powerup (the scary robbie) with invisibility, and 200% movement, and 50% grav that lasts only 30 seconds. Basically just enough to get you to the enemy base, and then you had to get the flag out on your own.

In the warpouts to the caves on each side, we had a large amount of weapons on a medium length respawn, and of course in each base we had a couple weapons and powerups.

The tactics for the game changed so much during the course of it.. was nuts. Had a couple standoffs where both teams had to hide with their flags for a good 15 minutes or so, only to have both flags get returned at the same time through some fucked up turn of events.
