Free agent centre Brendan Morrison is off the free agent list, as the B.C. native is set to join the Anaheim Ducks. Terms of the impending contract are not known, but it is expected to be a one- or two-year deal.

I think Heyman is seriously gonna commit suicide.

I guess his take on it is that a great goalie that can steal you some games has a chance to take you all the way, like New Jersey did a few times. The only difference is the coaching style was much more defensive and they had some studs on defence (Niedermayer and Stevens). Even still, Luongo hasn't been able to carry his team all the way and I doubt it will be enough with so many good teams in the West. Sundin would definitely help the cause though.

hollweg is a good fourth liner. The leafs are lacking grit and toughness and Hollweg will provide that.

Hasn't it been changed this year? Playing each team from the opposite conference once each, own division/conference a bunch of times and 3 'wild cards'. Or something like that

I don't know what the hell the Wild are doing trading Demitra and Rolston, but least we've got Brunette back. We shouldn't of traded him in the first place.

Leafs finally get rid of McCabe, trading him to the Panthers along with a 2010 draft pick for Mike Van Ryn.

What's super great about this deal is that Van Ryn has had chronic wrist injuries, and Fletcher was so eager to get rid of McCabe that he didn't even subject him to a physical.

Van Ryn is a solid defenceman. Hopefully he can stay healthy. This saves the Leafs 11+ million dollars in cap space over the next few years.

and Mayo, it's a friggen 4th round pick.

I like Van Ryn, but the fact that he is injury prone and wasn't given a physical before the trade really bothers me.
