Fuck ESPN. Michael Vick completes 4 passes for 19 yards and doesn't make it past the line of scrimmage on his one run and this is the current headline on ESPN.com:

"NEW EAGLE HAS LANDED: On Philadelphia's second play from scrimmage Thursday night, Michael Vick returned to an NFL field. Vick was solid, if not electric, in his Eagles' debut."

Seriously? The man did nothing but throw shovel passes, and like 13 of those 19 yards came on one completion.

And considering the whole electrocuting dogs thing, perhaps ESPN should shy away from using that adjective, no?

Marshall for Steve Smith? I think NY would take that in a heartbeat! And it would be further mismanagement of Denver.

I wouldnt take less than a 1st and 3rd, or top flight player.

I would offer Kiwanuka, a 2nd and a 5th.

A top defensive player or maybe a couple mid level (mid level for the Giants would be tops for Denver) defensive players would be good. Someone to play nose tackle and another guy in the secondary would be preferential.

Ronald Fields is terrible, I saw him get beat 3 times on one play in the Niners game. First lineman knocked him down, he got up and another lineman knocked him back down, then he started to get back up and the running back slid across him for a couple more yards.

Maybe he just had a bad game or something, because he was getting beat everytime San Fran ran the ball. He did look slightly better against Seattle though (the few plays I saw). So yeah someone to play his spot would be appreciated.

Just reading about Marshall's suspension on ESPN.com...

"Marshall went out during pre-practice warmups and walked while the rest of the team ran. He punted a ball away instead of handing it to a ball boy, and swatted a pass thrown to him. His actions were caught on video and broadcast by KMGH-TV."

Just watched it. Wasn't as hilarious as it sounded. lol

God, Denver is falling apart since Josh McDaniels took over. Seriously. Between this and the Jay Cutler incident (Obviously Brandon Marshall acting like a 12 year old isn't his fault but just the fact that it's another major incident with a great star player before he's even coached a game...) This man better be the second coming of Vince Lombardi when the season starts or this is gonna go down as an all-time horrible coaching hire.

Matthew Berry makes some "Bold predictions" for the upcoming season. Pretty terrible for the most part. It's a fun read though if nothing else.

These are some highlights for me. lol

- Brandon Jacobs scores 20 touchdowns

- Shaun Hill wins the starting quarterback job, throws for 3,000-plus yards and has at least 26 total touchdowns.

Honestly wouldn't be shocked about Jacobs getting 20 TD's. The running game is going to be the anchor of the offense this year. He had 15 last yea r IIRC and we had Plax and a passing attack for 12 games.

Yeah fuck Brandon Marshall...he would be a huge on-field boost but it's not worth the distraction.

As I've said, if the Giants are coerced into getting a big receiver either at the end of the preseason or by having ineffective WR play in the first few weeks, I hope they knock back on the Browns' door for Braylon Edwards.

The JerryTron got approved for '09. Any punt that hits it will just result in a replay of the down and any elapsed time will be added back to the clock. But after the year they might make changes depending on whether or not there are many incidents.

Bet there is at least one game this year where like 5 punts in a row hit it, forcing the punting team to change their punting strategy.
