I dunno, I mean, I think he has a fair point, the papers talk bollocks a lot, but they need something to go on, and it seems as though Defoe was touted to clubs, and we probably did the same with Cisse, hence Rafa has come out with this.

Then again....he could be trying to unsettle a player we want to sign in the summer.

I dunno. I just don't like clubs speaking on behalf of others you know. I know lots of clubs do it and Rafa ain't the first I just don't think its right when anybody does it. Another thing is Inter and Van Nistelrooy. With that one i think it's clearer that its there to unsettle. I'd swap Cisse for Defoe any day btw.

Yes same here cisse is a bag of shit while i don't no what problem spurs have with defoe but he's a decent player in my book!

Gerrard got booked for his lip and then within 90 seconds through in a dirty challenge. Blatantly deserved to go. Don't even know why it's being questioned. Had to get the bus to Portsmouth cos the trains aren't running, which takes fucking ages sitting in traffic, then had to go in the pub and listen to the Arsenal fans going on about how they won the league at White Hart Lane, only for the stupid cunt to call the game off meaning we have to go straight home.

Both teams were fine with playing the game, the pitch wasn't that bad and now we lose the TV money.

Never thought in a million years I'd be saying a game between Boro and Bolton was blinding. The ref (again) was a disgrace. How the fuck Pogatetz didn't get a free kick after being elbowed in the face is baffling. Davies not getting a red card was shocking. I'm only suprised Pogatetz never took him in the tunnel and stamped on his throat. Van Der Mayde got sent off for less yesterday.

Can't wait for Allardyce's excuses too. He always has something to moan about. He is just as bitter as Mourinho.

Fucking excellent game, wasn't expecting anything from it, and as you say it was a blinder.

Remember when Pogatetz was almost banned for a year for breaking that guys leg......I was just waiting for him to do it to Davies.....I'd be lying if I said I wasn't egging him on at home.

As for yesterday. Gerrard was a complete tit. You don't go in for a stupid lunge after being booked for kicking the ball away 30 seconds earlier. He was just asking for it, and the ref made the right decision. On the other hand, it gave us the kick up the arse we needed.

What can I say about the game.....we beat Everton 3-1 and Phil Neville scores an own goal.....fantastic.

Oh and Xabi Alonso..... world class.

Saw the same Liverpool/Everton game as Boondock, Liverpool was up by 1 and Everton played like a complete douche and looked like they just wanted to go hom towards the end, then some Liverpool guy made a pretty "sick" shot towards the end, and Liverpool won by 2.

Just a thought but how much do average players get paid?

For example, in baseball, A-rod is the highest paid player and he is tyaking in around 25 mill a year, 252 mill over all. An average player gets a few million a year. Other "American" sports have salary caps and stuff, but it is still a few mill for an "average" player

The very best players are on roughly £100k/week, so that's what - £5m a year roughly. About $7.5m, say. Below that it varies, players in the top leagues probably average about £20-40k a week, so about $1-2m. They can make more with endorsements etc but only very elite guys make enough off that for it to even enter consideration.

David Beckham probably makes about $15m a year (there were pretty official figures somewhere I think) - that's wages plus a ton of endorsements and he keeps a percentage of all his merchandise sales.

By the way got my tickets today for the Australia-Greece friendly in May. Sitting in a "neutral" section. In other words away from the designated Australian and Greek section. I can't be fucked hearing rednecks telling the Greeks to "fuck off wogs" and I also can't be fucked hearing the Greeks saying "fuck this country I hate it and wish I could go back to Greece even though I've never been in my whole life and don't realise how much better I am off here in Australia"
