I mean, it's like watching Sanford and Son. It's just rerun after rerun after rerun. It's almost comical, basically. We've got alcohol that's the No. 1 killer in America, and we legalize that. As a 2B I think he is borderline. Only due to lack of Post Season success and his dominant period was short. But he has the numbers. If he was any other psoistion HELL NO. But there has been a lack of good hitting 2Bman in history, and this guy is really underrated.

LOL. You clearly need to work on your reading comprehension. All "Moneyball" is about is finding inefficiencies in the market. That's it. OBP was heavily featured in the book because at that time, Beane was one of the only GMs who saw the value in OBP and therefore it was a good investment to go after high OBP players. But since the book has been released everybody and their mother knows how valuable OBP is, now high OBP players are getting the big contracts. More recently Beane has not been able to afford the high OBP guys so he has had to find other inefficiencies in the market, such as defense. Do you think he got Jay Payton for his .327 career OBP? Or Mark Kotsay for his .338? No, he got them because they gave him one of the best defensive outfields in the AL.

Moneyball is NOT an on-field strategy. I don't know why you dumbshits still don't get this. It has nothing to do with not bunting, not stealing, and trying to draw walks. ALL IT IS is a general managing strategy in which you try to go after players who's value aren't recognized by the Red Sox and Yankees and therefore can be signed for cheaper. The Red Sox have figured it out now, getting on base is the single most valuable offensive skill. Players the A's could've quietly signed in 01 or 02 are now getting multi-year contract offers from Theo Epstein. That's why they have to look to other areas where the big guys aren't looking, and right now it's defense.

Yes, I get that Billy Beane doesn't like to steal or bunt. But that doesn't have anything to do with Moneyball.

So now that I've explained it to you, maybe you can read it again and make some sense out of it this time, mmkay?

Aaron Harang is by a wide margin the most under appreciated player in baseball. He was first in the NL in Ks and wins last year and didn't get a single Cy Young vote and he's having another great year this year all while playing in a horrible pitcher's park and nobody notices. Well I notice, Aaron, and you'll always have someone watching your back.

Can you imagine all the pitchers the A's had at one time???????/ Zito, Harang, Hudson, Mulder, Haren, and Harden. Each of them in their primes would be a WS caliber Pitching squad.

Harang really came out last year, and is a legit Ace. I am nowhere near a Reds fan,but I really do like most of their players. They could be a great team with some Free Agent help.

I just went to a Norfolk Tides (Orioles) game when they played the reds AAA team (loisville). They have some nice AAA talent. Joey Vatto should be their starting 1Bman next year, and it would be nice if Jorge Cantu could regain his 100+ rbi form.

actually come to think of it, the benches were warned after Towers hit ARod. Clemens hit him after the warning, so it's pretty automatic.
