I wouldn't be so sure. Remember Detroit last year during the season we beat them a lot but once the playoffs came they kicked our asses. No matter what team the Yankees face it's not gonna be a walk in the Park.

I don't see Cleveland being around at the end. I dunno, I know the Yankees are catching them on a down fall but they look awful in all parts of the game. No offense, not much pitching and horrible defense. I know its just a couple games here but even at the beginning of the season when the Yanks faced them they didn't seem too impressive.

Yeah, by the next series some team in a slump is gonna have to start winning. Detroit is also in somewhat of a real slump and Cleveland not having to much pitching and horrible defense. Well next week the Indians are taking on the Tigers so I guess all in all one of these teams has to start playing well to beat the other team. Travis Hafner is on the DL do you think that could put the Indians in a melt down? It happened with Boston they lost Varitek for a while last year and they just went in to meltdown.

Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers, Angels
Mets, Cubs, Dodgers, Brewers

You know it's kind of funny because it used to be the other way around. I mean at the beginning of the Year it was the Yankees relievers who were doing awful at keeping leads. And Boston had the strong bullpen. And now the Yankees seem to have the stronger bullpen and not giving up games. If this keeps up Boston is gonna end up like the Yankees did at the beginning of the season. Except this time it was Kyle Snyder who lost the game for them not Gagne. I didn't even know Kyle Snyder was even still on the Red Sox.

The Sox have lost the past 3 series by 2 games to 1. Hopefully they come out of this funk when they face the Yankees and make up for lost ground. Not gonna happen if Gagne can't keep a lead and Snyder gives up walk-off homeruns to retarded Red Sox rejects.

I'm not too worried about the red sox, they're hitting the ball and the guys blowing games aren't guys I expect a huge role from in the playoffs and are being used to give Okijima and Pappelbon some rest for the stretch run.

what does worry me is while Ortiz and Manny are hitting the ball and knocking in RBI's they're hitting singles/doubles not home runs, which could become an issue.

Not a pretty game for the Yanks but a win nonetheless

Wang wasn't great today and either was Villone. Joba pitched another hitless 8th with 2 K's though.

Mo pulled a Gagne and gave up the tying run, first blown save since April but it all worked out I guess.

Yeah. The stars wern't aligned just right for Wang again. Hopefully his next start he'll be back to the same self he usually is.
Yeah, I think he'll be better I don't think 3-4 runs is really that bad though. It's not like he was horrible. All I ask from the Yankees is to win. I don't care who helps the Yankees. The starter, The Relievers, or the Fat beer drinking 30 year old in the fifth row section D in seat 4. As long as the Yankees win I'm happy.

And I can't wait for the Red Sox series. I'm going to my first Red Sox/Yankees game on the Thursday afternoon game. I don't have really good tickets but the Tier section isn't so bad. Those Red Sox/Yankees games are extremely expensive. Well they are for a cheap skate like me at least.

I have one completely unrelated question does anybody know if Zumaya is on the DL or not? Since Detroit is our next series after Baltimore. I really hope the Yankees don't have to face him. He has some wicked stuff.

We'll probably miss him this time around but once the Yankees go to DET. we'll be fine I think. I hope Joba pitches some because he is compared to Zumaya in the reliever role. We just need to get the lead really early on.

Yeah, I know it will be that's why I'm so hyped up about it. I hope the Yankees win this game. The past 2 games I went to they lost. I'm sure I'll have a great time. That Tampa Bay Devil Ray game that Mussina pitched I think it may have been late June. They lost like 20-4. And I was at Camden Yards to watch the Yankees get beaten. They almost won that one. I love Damon but if hadn't hit that double play we probably would have won. Camden Yards is a really great Ballpark by the way. That was the first time I was there for BP and I got the best seats I have ever sat in. I was like five rows back from the players.
