Cheick Kongo also has joined the Wolfslair Gym along with Rampage. Juanito Ibarra must have seriously fucked these guys over. Tito Ortiz was burying him big time online the other day too. I think he might be blackballed from the business now.

From Tito was saying, he was severely overcharging guys for training/managing and keeping the money himself. Like say he was bringing in a BJJ specialist or something. He'd tell the guys he would cost X and then pay the guy less and keep the rest himself.

Well, I guess if saving money is what you're after, Wolfslair is the place to go.

Rampage and Cheick might even be able to score a council house close by, if they play the immigrant card.

Apparently Juanito charged Rampage over $60,000 for his last fight. That's insane.

Hope someone ripped the whole thing so they could show it online..

Pretty retarded..

In other news Rampage might be fighting Wandy..

Quote:
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (28-7 MMA, 3-1 UFC) has begun preparations for a UFC 91 fight with Wanderlei Silva (32-8-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC).

Sources within Jackson's new camp at the Wolfslair Academy tell MMAjunkie. com (www. mmajunkie. com) that Jackson has agreed to the Nov. 15 bout and has already begun a six-week fight camp with the U.K.-based team.

However, the UFC has yet to announce the bout, and neither fighter could publicly confirm the match-up.

The Jackson-Silva bout will likely serve as the co-main event to UFC 91's headline fight of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar. The fight card, which also includes Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson, takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

MMARated. com first reported earlier this month that the Jackson-Silva fight was close to being finalized.

Jackson, who faces two felony (and four misdemeanor) charges stemming from a July hit-and-run and subsequent police chase in California, will return to competition for the first time since the bizarre incident and his recent split with longtime trainer and friend Juanito Ibarra. Under Ibarra's guidance, Jackson had won six consecutive fights, which included a first-round TKO of then-champ Chuck Liddell in May 2007, before his May title loss to Forrest Griffin.

Jackson, who recently pleaded not guilty to the charges, is currently scheduled for a Nov. 3 court date at which time he'll learn whether or not he'll go to trial due to his recent arrest.

Silva, meanwhile, recently picked up his first UFC win in nine years when he defeated Keith Jardine in quick and brutal fashion at UFC 84. He needed just 36 seconds for the knockout victory.

Silva competed in some early UFC events before heading to PRIDE to become one of the organization's biggest stars and most recognizable champions. However, his final two fights in the Japanese-based organization were both losses -- to Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Dan Henderson via knockouts -- and he stretched the losing streak to three straight when he dropped a unanimous decision to Liddell during his octagon return at UFC 79.

Silva owns two previous victories over Jackson -- one in 2003 and again in 2004 -- with both coming via knockout.

The winner of the Jackson-Silva fight will be in the thick of the UFC's light-heavyweight title picture, which also includes undefeated contender Lyoto Machida. However, Rashad Evans, fresh off a stunning knockout victory of Liddell, has been granted the first shot at Griffin's title. That bout is expected to take place later this year or in early 2009.

Tickets for UFC 91 go on sale to the UFC's fan club beginning Wednesday, and the general public can place its orders on Saturday.

I think Rampage would murder Silva now. Insane or not.

A few more yanks have joined the Wolfslair this week too. Gotta be careful here. Britain might actually start getting a rep for being a good MMA camp.

Anthony Johnson lost his appeal to get that Burns loss over turned..

F'n bullshit they didn't do it, IMO..

Quote:
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has rejected an appeal from UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson (5-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) to have his July 19 TKO loss to Kevin Burns changed to a no contest.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer explained the reasoning behind the decision in an email to MMAFrenzy.com.

"Based on advice from the Nevada Attorney General's office, the appeal was rejected due to lack of remedy."

The appeal, filed on behalf of Johnson by his manager Ken Pavia, requested the change because of the controversial stoppage in the "UFC Fight Night 14" bout.

Johnson was repeatedly poked in the eye during the contest, and Burns received several warnings for the infractions. Despite the warnings, Burns caught Johnson in the eye again late in the third round, and "Rumble" crumbled to the mat.

Referee Steve Mazzagatti did not initially realize the blow was illegal and halted the fight -- awarding a TKO victory to Burns.

Johnson's eye required surgery for a detached retina. Though Johnson has now fully recovered, the injury could have been career threatening.

Johnson was a recent guest on TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), the official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), and said he was unconcerned with the Commission's final decision.

"My manager, Ken (Pavia), deals with that," Johnson said. "They can keep the loss on my record if they want to because I know I will come back better and stronger next time."
Johnson was a total class act when it happened and is being a total class act now.. Future champion right there..

Not a bullshit call at all. At the time, Steve Mazzagatti thought it was a legit shot. So did nearly everyone else. People might lie about it and say they saw the eye poke immediately but they didn't. There aren't instant replays in the sport. You need to have some form of referee decision and human error in the sport or there is no point in having them.

They should be thinking of a way to stop it happening again is Burns can't close his fist fully. New gloves or something.

There just needs to be a secondary ref watching monitors outside the cage.. Regardless of the the justification of the call it was still wrong and that "loss" should not be on his record..

You need the referees to manage the fight, like stop it when someone is getting overwelmed or when someone gets knocked out or starts to tap.

Granted noone could see initially that he got poked in the eye, but in the replay, you could clearly see that the finger was knuckle deep in the eyeball. Im not saying there should be replays for flash knockouts, because they are knockouts. But there was no ko here at all. in the replay there was no question that it wasnt a ko.

It was a KO. The referee let it go and Burns went for it. That's a KO. Unless he was going to stop the action for an eye poke, the action continued as it should. It wasn't the eye poke that stopped the fight. An eye poke turned the fight. Big difference. Referees have missed nut shots a ton of times. Should all those matches be viewed again and have decisions overturned? God no.

it wasnt a KO tho. he fell back and turned away as he fell right after it happened. and he was screaming.

Im not saying that they should use instant replay for KOs in general, but in a case where a replay shows difinitively that there was not a KO then it should be overturned, especially given the fact that Burns was warned about it before it happened.

It was a KO because Burns kept on him and Mazzagatti stopped it then. If he went down holding his face screaming and Mazzagatti stopped it then I'd see the arguement. But he didn't.

Fuck instant replays. Fuck overturning results due to human error. Matt Hughes got kicked in the balls and was on the verge of being stopped against Frank Trigg and he pulled it back. If he would have lost that fight, nobody would have said "oh let's overturn it on an instant replay". The eye poke wasn't even deliberate.

I think it's quite mad that they are billing the Lesnar/Couture fight as the biggest fight in UFC history.

Yeah. Shit happens. Fight the guy again if it is that important to you, or just move on. Focus on getting more wins, instead of trying to get a disputed loss overturned.

I mean, for fuck sake, if he is as good as he says, then this loss won't matter one fucking bit in 12 months.
