Another work.

You used to be able to tell if something was a work or not by whether or not it was designed to make money. Now you’ve just got people faking shit for no reason other than “Ha! It wasn’t real!”

There’s been no TV lead-up to Punk developing an overbearing ego or being an enemy of the company. In fact, it supports MJF’s accusations of him, which are also supposed to be against the company. But in modern wrestling, that could all be absolutely intentional even though none of it makes any sense.

Apparently Punk's beef with Adam Page stems from a promo months ago where Page called him an interloper or something like that and Punk was mad he didn't get to approve it beforehand so this was his 'receipt' to Adam Page

If I were Punk, I’d be more annoyed at putting over a guy and then the company running him off almost immediately. I’d be more annoyed that I took a severe beating from another guy to put him over as a force of nature, the guy I put over put him over, then he’s stuck in silly mid-card comedy angles. I’d be more pissed that the best tag team workers in the company are constantly forced to the margins by office politics. I’d be frustrated that guys I could work main event programs with are distracted with terrible stories and given mid-card belts no one cares about to anchor them.

But that’s just me.

Yeah these AEW "homegrown" guys are probably not loving the polished WWE guys coming in and "taking" their spots. lol and even then, most of the great WWE guys are being wasted.

Tony's biggest problem is he can't focus--which I understand, his roster is too fucking big.

Having competition can be a driving force, but you need a booker who is going to be able to discern between what is good and what is bad. Tony is not that guy. He thinks his shit doesn’t stink.

Punk's last three feuds (Eddie, MJF, Page) all saw them flat out saying he's a selfish dickhead who doesn't actually want to be in AEW, wants to step over everyone and who basically has become the kind of personality that pushed him away from the business to begin with.

Now he cuts a clearly heel promo leaning into this stuff and everyone's surprised or acting like it's a big 'ol shoot?

I want all parties involved to lose, because they all suck. In their own unique ways.

Also, I don't believe a god damned thing leaked through wrestling media. Much of the AEW stuff comes from the EVPs, based on history (folks are secretly happy about Cody leaving, anyone?).

So, I base my opinion on what I have actually seen and observed from the parties involved. So, it is a bunch of cringy edgelords on 1 side and a miserable, mediocre shithead on the other. So, to close this as it opens, I want all parties involved to lose.

SRS generally seems to be the best of the bunch in terms of gathering sources and breaking stories. No one is on the money. I used to defend Dave as being someone that reports the hearsay he receives. I don’t care if journalists have biases. It’s just become insufferable to read/hear the constant spin to make one side look good and another side look bad, with smears and discreditation to anyone who doesn’t perceive things through the same lens.

More and more negative stories are coming out about AEW. This might be a sign that the appetite for news that isn’t licking the boot might be getting whet. When that happens, I’ll be more skeptical of that, since there’s a market for it. For a long time the market has been “WWE bad” and these guys are all trying to sell something.

I also don’t believe that talent talks to these guys as much as they used to. The dirt sheets used to be a way to get information in a guarded business out. Now all these idiots have social media. They don’t need a good relationship with any of them to get their side across.

I say it's like WWE because that was in theory why they have two shows with 5 hours of cable TV time AND a brand split: it was supposed to breathe new life into parts of the roster that would otherwise be untapped. But what ended up happening? "Free agents" and champions appearing on both shows. Person X being in anywhere from 3-5 segments per show. One of the three or four established tag teams continuing a never ending feud.

Where AEW one-ups them is that they also blow through material that can and should last a few months, and instead, they burn up an angle in like three weeks, and in that three weeks, they've had barbed wire matches, blown up one another's cars, and one person kidnapped and/or mind raped somone who means something to someone. No time to let it breathe or even explain why. Just on to the next! Faster faster!!
