This is how guys should be built up. Edge has been in the WWE for 8 years. He has scratched and clawed his way to the top. Now, he finally does it.

It is easier to make people give a damn when they have seen you climb the ladder for years, instead of just showing up and having some charisma so they put you in a title match after months or just a couple of years.

If I was booking this shit, I'd have the Cena Edge rematch scheduled for tomorrow. But then, during a promo at the begining of the show, the fans Boo Cena and he snaps, and yells "Fuck all of you" to the crowd. Have him drop the f-bomb, sure, why not. That should make the heel turn complete. Have the new GM "suspend" Cena. Cena, uber pissed, interferes in the main event and beats the shit out of Edge and whoever (maybe Carlito) before being taken out by security. Then, have Cena start showing up on Smackdown, bashing Raw. Eventually, the new GM reinstates Cena, not wanting him to draw people to Smackdown.. Then have Cena become this huge ego fucker, calling himself the Franchise of Raw, etc, etc, and go all corporate rap star.

Holy fuck, what a PPV that was last night!I was seriously expecting it to be a pile of shit, but considering how poor the card was, the matches turned out to be better than expected.And to have Edge win the title after the chamber match was a great start to the new year.I have to say I'm a fan of Edge now after that moment last night.I can see a (face)Edge V (heel) John Cena match at Wrestlemania.

Now I dunno whether it was just because I was drunk that I enjoyed the PPV so much, but i'm going to record the replay definately.Also got to watch Turning point before NYR on TWC so that was a good sunday night for once.

No it shouldn't.

The way Edge won it was perfect.

He took a golden oppportunity, Cena was exhausted and beaten. Edge came in and basically "stole" the title from Cena.

I'm thinking this was a way to try to get fans to cheer for Cena, by using that as sort of sympathy heat for Cena.

But that win was perfect for Edge and his character.

Why are people saying that this PPV was good?
I'll honestly say that this was the worst PPV in the last year.
Let's have a look at the matches:

Ric Flair vs. Edge - Such an average, slow-paced, boring match. This may be acceptable on Raw but certainly not PPV standard. And you know what the sad thing is? Besides the chamber, this was the best match on the card.

Trish Status vs. Mickie James - Typical women's match. Yes, it was a little longer than usual but it was so many botched spots that it was hard to watch.

Jerry Lawler vs. Helms - We knew this was just a filler match and it certainly didn't impress. Why the hell was Lawler wrestling? This was terrible.

Triple H vs. Big Show - In my opinion the two just don't work well together. It was your typical slow paced big show match and once again just felt like a mid-card raw match instead of a PPV one.

Viscera vs. Shelton - Has Viscera ever put on a good match? Also, Shelton's "momma" shouting at ringside the whole match didn't make it any more watchable.

Gauntlet Match - Fast forward this. What made me laugh was that the whole point is not to be stripped down but at the end when Ashley won she just stripped down anyway. What was the point in having the match then? Why did any of them even compete?

Elimination Chamber - I was disappointed with this. It in no way compares to the last 3. With such a huge gimmick applied to the match I expected some innovation and a few jaw dropping moments, I got none. I expected to be at the edge of my seat, I wasn't.
Once Angle got eliminated I knew the match would just go downhill and when Carlito and Masters were the only ones left with Cena it was just too obvious that Cena was going to win and I couldn't get into the match.
In no way memorable whatsoever. You know in the video package when they show all little clips of past chamber matches? They won't be showing any clips from this one, there's nothing to show.

Edge vs. Cena - Lasted what, 2 minutes? Edge wins which was a bit of a shock but I was just so angry that I sat through this terrible PPV.
