thanks for all the trade offers, most of them I didn't find equal value or would give me someone who wouldn't help/upgrade over current starters...

1 or 2 were decent and I almost went with... but with everyone starving for pitching and most my staff being "upside potential" guys, I can't deal the few who I count on as "sure things" unless it was a big upgrade over another position and the only batting position I feel very weak at is catcher, the rest are good to servicible.

Given that I have two top quality 3rd baseman I'm more than willing to deal one for a high quality pitcher

no thanks Hero. The way it stands now Laroche would be my 3rd best 1st baseman. Shame too because I liked the deal even though I'm a little skeptical about him playing in PNC Park this year.

That's my conundrum, I have a pretty decent stud in LaRoche, yet on my team he ranks as my 3rd best 1B.

Man...

Like I said, LaRoche is a very good player, but ranked 3rd in depth at his position on my team. I was feeling like trading him was never going to happen. Feverpitch has accepted a deal for him. Now Snell isn't a stud of a pitcher, but I do believe he's the 'Ace' as things go for the Pirates.

So relieved right now. Thing is I think LaRoche is going to do a 30/100 year no matter what, so Howard and Giambi better not have shit years.

Yeah LaRoche is definitely receding this year if you ask me. I think Helton is gonna bounce back and if not I'd say Adrian Gonzalez is a very sound option

I'm thinking:
.290/15 HR/65 RBI/80 R/12 SB

That's if he hits 7th, where he's projected to hit right now. If he moves up to the 2 slot or the 5 slot his runs or RBIs will go up.

From what I've heard about Drew he seems to be a Barry Larkin type. He hit 7 triples last year in about 200 ABs so I'd assume he's got pretty good speed but he only stole 2 bases so go figure.

yeah I did notice the 7 triples and 2 SBs. Hmmm. Think I'll pass on any of that since I have better pop coming from SS and the utility position. Troy Glauss played 6-8 games at SS last year so he qualifies this year as a SS on Yahoo.

Picked up Maddux, Jeff Weaver, Garcia and El Duque. Feeling much better about my own roster right about now.

Wouldn't be shocked if El Duque especially doesn't last the season, but should be much better value than Colon. Jeff Weaver should be as well, just depends which Jeff Weaver we see (the world series winning one or the crap one). Garcia should improve in the NL, and nothing really needs be said about Maddux

I'm gonna say no on this one and that mainly has to deal with the starting pitching on the FA being pretty poor. Also I figure if Kendrick doesn't perform to his potential he'll still be in line with the rest of the 2b in the league.
