BSkyB's monopoly on screening live Premier League football has been broken with Setanta winning two of the six packages available.

The Irish pay TV operator had been expected to win one package of 23 matches but has pulled off a shock by winning two.

It means from 2007 to 2010, BSkyB will show 92 of the live matches and Setanta 46 live games.

I was just about to post exactly what Kirky posted. So far from giving the consumer better value and choice, we all have to go out and subscribe to Setanta to get the same amount of matches we had on Sky.

The cunts slap a cover charge on venues showing it too. South Melbourne has access to Setanta for World Cup/European qualifying games involving Greece and the cunts force Hellas to charge $20 per person for entry. Hellas played away this afternoon at Frankston...let me just say wild scenes. Train 50 minutes down to Franga, flares in the streets on the way there, STORMED into the ground and took over the grandstand. As much as i love the guy, there's no way big Emile should get into the England squad on the back of this season.

Paddy's being linked with Birmingham, yianni. £750,000 is being mentioned, which would be a decent profit i guess, especially as i would have given him away for nowt a few months ago. Rossi needs games though. When we did the treble, we have 4 top class strikers rotating and none of them complained. Infact, we accepted an offer of £5 million for Ole at the start of the year and he refused to go and was happy with the rotation and it worked well for him. Bit of loyality goes a long way.

Yeah true. Just feel like he hasn't done a whole lot wrong this season and hasn't been playing too much. I take what you mean about the not seeing the fans though that is kind of low. Wtf at flair saying you're team is rubbish you'll be closest to Chelsea again next season.

He has let us down. Alex Ferguson picks the team and Saha has been doing a great job. We stuck by him when his first transfer fell through when he snapped his knee and he can't even come out for the fans? Fuck him. Pick up your toys and push your own pram to the reserves.

I was more referring to the pleading that if Arsenal won the Champions League then Spurs should still get in. EVEN THOUGH the rules were specifically changed last season so that that wouldn't happen again. His appeals had no grounds whatsoever. Turns out they didn't finish 4th anyway but theyve still had a great season whatever.

7 or 8 of his first team had food poisoning today and he didn't want to play. If I were him, I would have had the rest of the team fake it and said everyone couldn't play and force the FA into a corner.

I love end of season games. Not for the football, cos the game was absolute shite, Liverpool at times were playing like they did under Houllier with that wonderful Hyypia to Carragher to Dudek to Hyypia to Carragher to Dudek until someone could be bothered to close them down.

But the party atmosphere was quality.

The Liverpool fans were absolute shite for some reason, I have no idea why, they didn't even rise to the bait that most fans rise to (shall we sing a song for you, can you hear the scousers sing, do you ever sing at all?) just sat there in silence. So the Pompey fans start belting out a chrous of "You'll Never Walk Alone" for them

The other good chants included:
Quashie's gone down again, Quashie's gone down again.

We don't want Heskey, we don't want Heskey
We want Gerrard, we want Gerrard

Off the pitch, off the pitch, off the pitch (when the Liverpool team decided to do a warm down, delaying our lap of honour)
Plus a load of shite Crouch got every time he ran infront of the home end doing his warm down.
and "who nicked your laces, who nicked your laces?" when Graham Poll kept stopping to piss about with his boots, he responded by giving us a thumbs up which was quite funny too.

Typical end of season game, boring as fuck mostly, but well done lads on a good finish to the season.
