News regarding the PS3 version of the game have the mandatory install size being 2GB while the "high-res" texture pack is still an optional install but just like the Xbox 360, "standard def" graphics for the game unless it is installed as well.

EA might also be removing the original promise of BF 1943 as a "freebie" for the PS3 version because the box itself nor the manual show any mention of the game while EA itself hasn't said anything about the bonus goodie since the initial announcement.

That's what I hate about the PS3. If Blu Ray is supposed to be up to 50 GB per disc, why do you have to fucking install? It's retarded.

Yeah the drive is shit. Installing every major act of MGS4 was not fun.

A 2X speed blu ray drive is fine for movies. But for gaming it sucks.

Kotaku basically confirmed what everyone assumed would occur with the single player in being just as sub-par as Call of Duty (specifically the MW set) and last year's Medal of Honor games. Joystick also hated the single player and said it wasn't any fun but multiplayer was solid enough to not drop the score.

But they did praise how great the multiplayer was and how you can tell all the effort was done for his mode in development.

It also appears the rumors of EA planning to alternate the yearly releases between the Medal of Honor series and Battlefield series will occur because the BF3 manual includes the tease of a new MoH game and could be a direct sequel to last year's game with the Tier 1 group.

Yup me. Played BF2, 2142 and BC2. Love it all. Was on holiday for the bloody BETA Had the key for the earlier access, but was away.

Always better on PC

Just got it for PS3, can't play online. Says Online Pass check failed and to try again in a bit. Not sure what that means really.

It looks like EA at the last minute went back against its word to include Battlefield 1943 as a freebie for PS3 owners (or at least as a pre-order) by saying that was ditched in favor of Sony just paying for the 1 week exclusive launch DLC.

Game is awesome! A bit faster paced than BC2 for sure but still very fun. I love the sound in the game as well.

Got my little robot drone, but the controls are too loose.

Can't get kills with the jet for the life of me.

Getting better with the choppers.

Pretty much going steady with Engineer since it takes forever to level up.

Flash lights are hilarious.

Getting Dog Tags in this game is a bitch compared to BC2. I was prone behind a potted plant and a dude ran by me and went prone right in front of me and I knifed him in the ass about 3 times and killed him, but I got no dog tag.

Note:

If you wanna get your buds in a squad, do NOT start a game in a squad. When it starts you choose an empty squad in the squad menu and have your buds join it. Leave a squad if you must. Also, USE SERVERS, fuck quick match. This way you can snag a game with enough empty spaces.

Squad management should be a button press away from any menu screen instead of being tied to Quick Match tab.
