Actually, I think the issue here is that no one was swerved. It was very predictable and made the first 35 minutes of the show a bit of a waste, honestly.

Unless the Supplemental Draft has any big moves, right now Christian and Morrison are the big winners of the draft.

Christian stays in the top 2 as faces of Smackdown (Orton as the other big name) and Morrison moves into a stronger #2 face after Cena (Big Show occupied as tag champ and Rey probably goes to US division for now).

Biggest loser might be Del Rio moving from #1 heel on Smackdown to an overcrowded heel group on Raw.

It's not a huge thing, but there was only one draft pick in the first forty minutes of the show. By the end of the night, that one pick was back on the same show.

It just kind of felt like the first third of the show was all about "OMG Cena is going to SmackDown! This is going to completely change the face of WWE!" Then at the end of the night, they yanked the rug out from under that.

By pointing out that we weren't, in fact, swerved. It was completely predictable and a bit of a rip-off as far as show-ending "shocking" cliffhangers go.

Called that bs from the moment a saw Cena's pic flckering during the draft cycle again normally once their moved they don't come up a 2nd time come on talk about dropping the ball. Guess this means Alberto isn't going to be WHC shame really he would look so much better with that strap then that Spinner crap. Unless the supplemental draft has a lot of big name moves overall i'd say this year's edition was an utter and complete failure wtg WWE. :foc:

Yeah, it was obvious that Cena was going to end up back on RAW somehow. They're not going to let the buildup to their epic Mania 28 main event happen on Smackdown.

I thought that there was a slim chance of keeping Cena on Smackdown for maybe a few months at least (has to do something until Mania) before going back. Somehow.

No. I didn't. Pay attention.

At least four different people (myself included) by the midpoint in the show had posted something to the effect of "Cena is going back to Raw at the end of the night."

At the end of the night, Cena went back to Raw.

Really hope that Morrison or Miz don't get drafted to Smackdown in the Supplemental draft.

If they don't, it pretty much guarantees a win for Christian this Sunday, which would be

No, he's saying he wasn't fooled by it because the WWE were constantly dropping hints that Cena would be drafted back, and that it's merely a mistake to book the first 40 minutes of your wrestling show about something that doesn't happen.

Randy Orton and Sin Cara to SmackDown! will be interesting moves, and it seems like there is once again renewed interest in pushing Mark Henry -- but I don't think I buy him as a heel. I mean, he's got size and power to him, but he really brought charisma to the table as a face -- whereas evil Mark is just a little bland. But we'll see how it goes.

Keep in mind that you have Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes as heels on SmackDown! still, and that Ted DiBiase seems like a fairly safe pick to be drafted.

Rey Mysterio to RAW balances out Sin Cara's trade. Cara's not ready to be exposed live yet, and having Mysterio on RAW allows the WWE to keep their masked merchandise movers separate. I'm looking forward to seeing Sheamus vs. Mysterio for the US Title, to be honest.

Big Show needs to keep moving, as the guy's like a shark. He's over, so I think he'll bring something to RAW. I'd like to see him move into a feud with The Miz over the WWE Title, actually. Cena can be tied-up with someone, and Morrison and R-Truth can do their little thing. Let Big Show have just one month to be doing his thing with The Miz.

Also the fact that Orton was slected right after he was made a little too obvious as well there not going to put there two top faces on the freaking B show like seriously. Even Cena by himself would have been a risky move but it could have made sense as he could use it as part of the buildup with The Rock saying he tore it up on "his" show. As for Christian even if he wins he will end up being a transitional champion as he will likely end up losing it the same way Rey did last year at MITB if not sooner.

What? The whole story was that Raw lost their top two stars and they were fucked. Then at the end everything worked out and the hero was back.

Not me, personally. I'm saying from a booking standpoint, they negated the first third of their show in the last 24th in an effort to shock. A shock that wasn't shocking, thus a waste of time.

But again, I personally don't have an issue with the draft as a whole. Should make for an interesting summer. I was just pointing pit that if you're going to generalize the IWC's stance on something you should at least understand it first.

If Riley gets moved to SD I could see Show eventually becoming Miz's new backup.

I understand it completely. The IWC doesn't like Cena and will crap all over everything that ends with him coming out on top.

What else did you want to happen? This outrage seems to stem from the idea that they wasted that time talking about Cena and they should've used it for something else. So what else should they have used it for? A Diva draft pick?

It was a completely harmless storyline that involved the company's biggest star that happened to wrap up within 1 show.

Does anyone else feel like Smackdown was actually gutted during the draft again? Sure they received Randy Orton, but losing ADR and Rey is kind of hard.

On the plus side, things should be looking for up Wade Barrett. Him and Cody are the only legit heels left on Smackdown.

Actually, redundancy actually violates one of the first laws of script writing. It's not a case of Cena stopping a bomb, or Cena foiling terrorists. Cena was advertised as going somewhere, and then didn't.

Cena could have gone to SmackDown! and perhaps even taken the WWE Championship over there. I'm not saying that would have been the best thing ever, but that's a scenario that involves Cena "coming out on top" that at least delivers on the premises it proposes.

It'd be cool if he actually got that loopydate was not shitting all over the draft, but was merely saying "That wasn't a surprise -- it was the predictable direction of it all, but it kinda feels like a waste to build up a move, no matter whose it is, only for it to be all for naught at the end of the show" and not "booooooo cena. way to go cena, u cunt see me."

Believe it or not, people don't like a bait-and-switches. They feel, you know, like they were promised something that didn't deliver. Fancy people not enjoying that? I guess they have never watched television before and just like complaining.

What? How is it redundant? It's the same thing as any other show on tv. You're watching Raw. The main star on Raw is leaving the show. That creates chaos and conflict for the entire Raw family. Then you have rising action and ultimately a deus ex machina ending that resolves everything and restores Raw to order. That is tv.

If the story were actually meant to be about John Cena fighting his way back to RAW, so he can have the WWE Championship during his match against The Rock at WrestleMania, then this was still not really great television:

1. It wrapped up on the show. So there's essentially no drama going forth from it -- no tensions or sparks really created. There's no real "all or nothing" attached to what would have been John Cena's last WWE Title opportunity, and his last chance to deliver on his word and have the belt in time for his match against The Rock.

2. The story of John Cena fighting his way back onto RAW was done just a couple of months back, when Nexus leader Wade Barrett fired Cena, leading to Cena attacking Nexus members under Barrett gave Cena his job back -- leading to Cena getting a big victory over Barrett at the December PPV, "TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs."

3. SmackDown! is merely an obstacle. Nothing we should want to watch or care about -- but merely a prison restricting Cena, and stopping him from achieving grander goals than he can on SmackDown!.

The WWE could have had Cena drafted, and at a later date he could have found his way back onto RAW. The Rock could have mocked him next week for failing to take the WWE Title from The Miz, and now he's on "The Rock's show" and being reminded that he will never be The Rock. Cena could have been traded back for some other talent, so at least SmackDown! gets something out of the whole "CENA'S COMING!!!" situation.

It's just terrible writing. Not everything in the WWE, and not everything involving Cena; just this particular bait-and-switch.

Nah, sometimes it's better to just deliver what is expected. Swerves, turns, surprises and such have their place; but not constantly. It's why the faces need to win at WrestleMania.

This is exactly my point. It didn't happen how YOU wanted it to, so you complain. You'd be ok with him going back in a couple weeks but not tonight?

Not everything has to advance a storyline. It's not the end of the world to have minor side stories that don't play into the bigger picture. It didn't hurt anything. It didn't disrupt anything. It was a harmless 1 episode side story. Get over it.

If they had spent two hours talking about that elimination and then didn't follow up, then yes. You would be 100% right.

But, shockingly, you're not.
