Carpenter wasn't anything special until last season though, if I was Toronto I would be happy with Halliday.

Anyway, I got to my first game tonight, Twins at Kansas City. Pretty fun, it's only the second time I have even seen them this year since only one game has been on TV here. Ruben Sierra came off the bench and hit the game tying RBI, which was fun, and then Nathan got the save. I almost like going to away games more than home games.

Twins are off to a rocky start, they can't let themselves get too far behind, Detroit are already on a roll :\

Mussina pulled another beauty out of the bag last night, that guy has had one of the most consistent careers every, like one losing season or something, and that was with the O's.

Meant to post it on the ESPN A's message board, didn't think anyone here would even know who Gaudin is.

And Gaudin loses the game, in his first appearance of the season, coming in a tie game vs. the Rangers in the 9th inning. Don't get me wrong, he needs to get work, but not in that situation.

Does baseball still mandate just one mandatory random drug test per year? Last year, after you were tested once you didn't have to be tested a 2nd time.

If that's the case, pretty obvious Bonds got tested early and is now back on the juice

Wow, awful game by the Yankees. The Devil Rays gave up 14 walks throughout the game and the Yankees only manage to score 2 runs and end up losing 4-2. 16 people LOB also, pretty ridiculous.

Bad baserunning as well and the offense just died.

But at least Chien-Ming Wang faired pretty well lol, which is good. 7 IP giving up 2 ER.

It's way too early and their stats are very similar. The only thing you could really argue is hits.

Who cares if he is 4-0? He hasn't pitched that well at all so far this year. Neither has Blanton, but the key thing here is they both have 30 starts left. How many times to people have to explain this to you before you understand?

Jays brought up a prospect from AAA to fill in for AJ Burnett. He didn't look too bad for the 2+ innings I seen him. He went 4 innings, left the game trailing 3-2. 2 wlaks and 2 hitter batters cost him. Jays have a deep and decent farm system of young pitchers.

How? The only answer you could have is he has given up like 4 less hits and has a slightly lower ERA than Blanton yet it is still in the 5's.

You are putting way too much importance on how good a pitcher is on something that can't control completely.

Anyways, yeah. Saw the video of Young throwing the bat a little while ago. When I first heard of it I thought he just flipped it against the ump while standing right next to him. He walks away so you can't even see him on the screen and then chucks it pretty damn hard, lol. Pretty crazy.

yeah it's called not giving up more runs than the other team. it's liek grant fuhr in hockey. sure he'd win games 8-7 but all that matter is that he won.

He can't control how many runs his own team scores, so wins/losses really don't show much about which pitcher is better though. I'm not even talking about Chacin/Blanton just saying in general BTW.
