I hate the dlc costume packs. Just offer them piece by piece like they did witj SFxT.

It wouldn't even be so bad if the costumes were cool. Sometimes I'll even pick up a new character if I like an alt enough.

But christ, most of these summer ones are god awful.

I've always found costume packs retarded. If it doesn't add to game play then I'm not paying for it. I don't give a flying fuck what Ryu looks like as long as ↓→punch=fireball

wouldn't Tekken level customization be easier in Street Fighter? I've been playing Tag 2 lately and can easily make any costume that would cost me a few bucks in SFIV

Im gonna be offline for a bit, going through a move. I will be on very limited at random.

Using attire edit like Tekken or Virtua Fighter is certainly possible, but that would still mean dlc down the line. Im good with color edit to start. Soulcalibur V puts them all to shame in this area.

Got it yesterday. First impressions.

WTF with Hugo? I went through Arcade with him and he is so powerful it feels like the opponents health just melts away. Power, I love it! No doubt they'll reduce his power in a patch when enough people get upset about it. Even though he's insanely slow, cannot do anything unless he's right in your face and he's a giant target so I feel it evens it out.

Poisons U2, Poison Kiss, is pretty powerful but a pain to hit. I thought it would activate if you missed and the opponent walked into or under the heart that just floats there for a sec. Could take some practice if I choose that one.

I only played through Arcade with Poison and Hugo, so far. I don't know if it was intentional but both Arcade stories made me laugh. Hugo is a potato. Who tells their baby son to grown big like a potato? Baby Hugo is cute. Adult Hugo is awesome. Everybody wins.
I noticed the potato had markings on it like Hugos shirt. Is he supposed to be dressing like a pink potato? I guarantee that someone will cosplay as Hugo and carry the biggest potato they can find the entire time.

As for Poisons intro, I just found the "Why don't you dance!?" guy asking her to dance when she got in the ring funny. Partly the way he says it. Partly because, in my experience, no matter how serious you are being, there will be an idiot that would rather see you "dance" or something and they'll ask endlessly.
Her ending was great. The music in it was cool and I hope full versions of those remixes exist, somewhere. Kinda want to cosplay as rock/metal Poison.
Also, they mentioned Sodom. SFIV mentioned/showed Adon in Sagats intro, He was in SSFIV. Yun and Yang were mentioned/shown in Chun-Lis story and they were added. Incoming Sodom DLC announcement!

I'm a little disappointed the old characters have the same intro's not animated, new characters don't have rival cutscenes and that the achievements just carry over from SFIV.

I see Capcoms definition of hardest is still having the AI just spam one move. Did they do something to Seth? He actually fights now instead of just working to a pattern.

Hugo is my main and he's an absolute monster. st.Mp does like 120 dmg I think? 6 or 7 of those and you win. He's super duper hard to get in with but once you do it's time to go to town. Claps combos and kara throws all day. He was my main in Third Strike and 1/2 of my mains in SfXt so I was super stoked that he came to Ultra. I just wish they'd have took the little bit of time to make some trials for the new characters. It just goes to show how little they actually care imo

I'm all about grapplers but I rarely get to fight them because no ones seemed to notice that the Shoto characters aren't the only choices.
I main Zangief but I've not really touched him in Ultra because I'm trying to get used to the new guys. At my best with Zangief, I was in the top 10 European players and top 30 in the world by SSFIV's online leaderboard which I know doesn't mean much but I like to use it as a rough gauge. I also had what may be the longest win streak in TPWW with 20 or 21 wins against 6 or so of the guys as I played Zangief. Super rusty by comparison now, though.

I don't think it's a lack of caring in the case of Ultra. I think it's a lack of money, isn't it? Capcom just can't afford to spend time on trials, a 100% new intro, new characters etc. That's the impression I was under.

Yes. There was you, RoXeR, Funky Fly (it was a while ago), Fignuts, I think and maybe one or two other.

I was just on a roll that night. I've never been able to repeat it which is why I still remember it. I started to feel awkward because I kept picking Zangief.
I was actually pretty proud of my streak because I've always ranked everyone else in our TPWW sessions as being much better than me so I liked having my moment.

You definitely were Kalyx. Drakul's Gief was ridiculous. Only ever beat him 2 or 3 times and only ever my best guys.

I think challenges needed to be added to. Help with timing is something I'd have really appreciated because it doesn't seem constant. One combo is slow, by combo standards, like "m.Kick Mississippi. l.Punch Mississippi. EX [move name] Mississippi etc." while another is much faster in a rapid boomboomboomboom way.

Also, names for alts instead of Alt 1, Alt 2 etc would make selection easier. One word names like Alpha, Casual, Gangster etc. Previews for selectable win quotes and taunts would have been good too, A little text box by the characters artwork to preview dialogue.

I've been seeing a lot of women in the trans community dying their hair pink these last couple of months, including two of my friends. They do this as Poison gets into USFIV. Coincidence? I think not!!

I've been playing ranked matches lately. I see it's still just one of 5 Ryu vs me. There seems to be fewer people online than I remember, which is a pity.

Btw, what's with people picking Training Stage all the time? Is it some kind of status thing? "I'm so pro, I only play on Final Destination Training Stage!"
That's all I can think of. Why else would 99% of the people I face intentionally pick the dullest stage possible, every single time? I could get it if someone, once in a while, chose it or if Random selected it but manually selecting it every time?
I'm basically just replaying the same match in the same place at this point.

Training Stage reduces lag somewhat. You're fighting Ryu players because of rank.

I'll probably be done with this and heading back to SFxT but I do wanna face you guys before that. Just waiting until we're online and set up here.

It's more legit in a fighting game, honestly. Lag can really be a bitch in a peer-to-peer input lag system as most fighting games are. Me and Figgy tried to have a series in SF4 a month ago and we dealt with lag we haven't had to deal with in SFxT (rollback netcode). Granted he had some tech issues on his end, but it was really bad.

I don't think Training Stage environments improve things that much, though, since there's no reason the game would need to communicate background actions between each player; those canned effects and animations only need to be processed on your own box. Their pre-set switches dictate that I'll be looking at an NPC do something the same time you are, it's in the system. I mean; I still have laggy matches in Training Stages, and I have smooth matches in very active stages - so it might a myth sort of thing.

Last I checked I think my E.Ryu was at a C. Decapre should do great. The very few matches I had on ranked with her are 100% win rate. She's a keeper.

Omega Mode essentially uses unused moves and concepts and puts them in what looks like a more fun engine overall. The mode will come for free along with an update that adjusts a few characters.
