Technically. In the strictest sense of the phrase, OJ was found not guilty by a jury of his "peers." Beyond that, who can tell?
But it's true, he was criminally exhonerated.

Like Dungy said... the Colts just now have a good "team," more than just Manning... but they're one of the three youngest teams in the NFL. If the Colts don't ship him out, I foresee him getting his ring if he has patience. But you need your talent to mature before they can withstand the postseason. |

Colts will never win a Superbowl . Pacers will never win a Championship. I'll be a depressed sports fan for the rest of my life. Plagued by nightmares of Mike Davis sitting on the bench and watching as Indiana St erases a 20 point lead with 2 minutes to go to win by 7 ( or something along those lines ).

Also did Gruden really destroy that team, or did age and salary cap force him to rebuild? My jury is still out on Chris Simms, how he improves this offseason will tell us where he's going to be able to go as a pro QB. |

Personally, I don't... I think he's a great guy, I respect him and what he does (not just on the field) I just don't see him (either in Tampa or Indy) being a coach that can get a team to that "next level". I think you put Walsh, Gibbs, Parcells, Belicheck, Johnson, just to name a few in charge of that team and they make the Superbowl, I know I just named "the best" but there are others I think would have gotten them there also. Maybe next year is "the year"... just wait, it will be the year everyone really write them off, then they'll win it. or even better, some off season when Daddy Manning is running his mouth, Peyton & Eli both publicly denounce him and then go on to have an all Manning Superbowl. As I've said before, I don't dislike Peyton, however his father goes out of his way to prove how much of an ass he is. (Archie being the ass not peyton). |

I dont believe in my team at all right now. I probably wont til they are punching there ticket to the Super Bowl. But i think thats just from the playoff hangover i have.
I think Dungy can win a Superbowl. It just remains to be seen. I think he's a much better coach then Marty Ball. |

And to be quite honest ,my belief in Peyton Manning is at an all time low. You could call him anything and i probably wont argue. Not showing up for 3 quarters is flat out unacceptable.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2309549
NEW YORK -- The NFL Network will broadcast eight prime-time games on Thursdays and Saturdays beginning next season. The eight-game package, announced by commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Saturday, will begin with a game on Thanksgiving night. All of the games also will be shown on local stations in the teams' home markets. The package was created by taking Saturday and Sunday games that originally would have been shown by the league's broadcast partners or on their regional telecasts. The league runs the 2-year-old NFL Network, which is in about 40 million homes. The addition of games to its lineup almost assuredly will increase that number. The league also has lucrative deals with CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and DirecTV. "After discussing this new package of games with many potential partners, we decided it would be best presented on our own, high-quality NFL Network, which has developed so rapidly that the time had come to add live regular-season games to the programming," Tagliabue said. "In the end, we wanted these games on our network, which is devoted 24/7 to the sport of football, and not on a multi-sport network." ESPN is paying $1.1 billion annually over eight years to broadcast the Monday night games. NBC has a six-year, $3.6 billion deal for the Sunday night package. CBS and Fox are paying a total of $8 billion over six years for the rights to Sunday afternoon games. DirecTV agreed to pay $3.5 billion for a five-year extension that runs through 2010. --- are you kidding? what happens to people who dont have satellite tv? So if the Giants end up playing on Thanksgiving night then the only way to see them is to go to a restaurant to watch them play. wow |

... Well, maybe he wasn't the GM, but the coach doesn't sit on his ass and make due with what the GM gives him, now does he? He brought in a new and unique defense, and found the right players to do it. He had to play with Trent Dilfer and Shaun King and the Seminoles at WR; it's like the Eagles having to play with Duce Staley and Todd Pinkston/FredX -- the good defense just doesn't get it done. So to answer your initial Q, no Dungy wasn't the GM -- but was Ted Cottrell the GM in Minnesota when we brought in Antoine Winfield, Pat Williams, Sam Cowart, Ralph Brown, Keith Newman? No. But he told the GM the players he wanted to play in his system, and the GM got them. It's never so simple as "I'm gonna get talent, you play with it," Unless we're talking Matt Millen in Detroit... he will draft talent and force the coach to adapt. But we see how successful that is. |

in fairness, since the Giants play in NJ, I think only NJ should get the game.
Different sport, but the Red Sox have always had 1/2 their games on their "cable station" and 1/2 on a public/free station. They changed that, as of this season all games except Fox games will be on their station. Expect to see this more, gives the sports/team owners more direct control of TV ad revenue and station sales. |

Two things, Assman lives in Virginia, BCWWF, that is his problem.
VEL, no. That would be like saying that the Patriots should only be televised in Massachussetts where they play. What the hell would they show in New York if they didn't show the Jets or Giants, besides the Bills? I don't understand your logic, how would it be fair to say only NJ should get Giants games broadcasted? Who the hell is being treated unfairly now that they should change it? What the hell would teams want to minimize their viewing audience for, in this specific case you brought up? |

The thing that kills me about that is, everyone was questioning whether he would retire or not and I personally never saw or hear him say he was considering it following the season.
If he does, I guess it would be okay. It is obvious that the Packers are probably building for the long run and want to shape their young QB. |
