I've heard that Baltimore is more intrested in Chester Taylor then they are in Lewis. Which makes me think they may not franchise Lewis. Why pay they guy that much money for one more season when they feel Taylor can start.

I dunno. I think Lewis is still a great back and last year was a product of prison time. I'd love to see him come here for less money then Edge is asking for and at this point with the RB's in such low demand and with Edge leaving. I think it could happen. If the Ravens decide to cut him loose.

Lewis is on the downside of his career.
Holmes may not ever play again and if he does is probably one good hit from never walking again.

Rhodes for the money could be a decent fill in, see what he can do and still pickup someone later in the draft.

RB has become one of the easier positions to replace and with the Colts free agents coming up if you get 2 out of 3 (James, Wayne and Freeny the following season) I'd sign Wayne & Freeny. Also, his lead blocker Mungro I think is up and Larry Tripllett... Also... Vanderjagt watch, they'll spend big money in Vanderjagt and endup losing Wayne & James...

I think Manning counts for around 17-18mil on the cap this year, he could "redo" his contract, either defer some money, or the Colts give him a longer deal to spread out the signing bonus over more years.

He repeatedly said during the year he was playing for as big a payday as he can get though, I doubt he would come cheap.

Also, Jamal admitted to phoning last year in to stay healthy. He is only like 26 years old. Downside my ass. Granted, he was run into the ground, but he still has a good 3 years left in him. He won't get franchised, that's for certain, and he can make pretty good money because he's not horrible. He DOES hold the NFL record... and that will at least give him ONE productive season (see: Corey Dillon).

But yeah, there are so many athletic HBs who can't do it all, they can all get 1200 yards, but they can't pick up a blitzer (except Marion Barber, III. Maybe the Colts can trade for him), or catch the ball.

Go Edge! Hopefully he signs with MN. I'd rather him than Shaun Alexander.

Godo points, I don't know why I thought Lewis was older then that... but yeah, if he's 26 and can stay healthy then he still should have some good years left.

Dillon was banged up this year, we'll see what he has left next year... I can't remember if he has 1 or two years left on his contract. One thing I really like about him is he's great at picking up the Blitz, all the Pats RB's are... Given in the case of Kevin Faulk it's more of a "throw yourself at the guy and hope he trips" but that still give the QB an extra second.

I've had this love/hate thing with the Pats for years. I loved the whole "underdog coming out on top" thing, rooted hardcore for them vs the Rams... and watching that game made me a big fan. Then, they came back and got another one two years after that, and I was like "hell yeah!" But... then they went and got Dillon, followed by drafting Vince Wilfork... I hated that. Like, I loved them, but I also really love Dillon and Wilfork... and the Vikings picked up Udeze instead of drafting Wilfork? WTF. Kevin Williams is a dominant DE. We didn't need another.

Anyway, I love it when a team is the "underdog," but when you have so much talent, I can't really with a clear conscience root for them to win anymore... so it's rough. Like, I respect the team, and believe it's one of the best of all time, but... it's too fashionable to be a Pats fan. I don't even like C-Dill that much anymore. I liked him back with his record-breaking days, when he was the LT of his time...

Oh and PS: WTF are you talking about, there are TWO Ricky Williamses?!?!?

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/303098

and yeah, I undertsand, it's like how everyone wanted Jordan to win one and when they kept going eveyone became a hater, or the Celtics because off all the championships..

It is amazing sometimes though, how the good get better, The Dillon trade, Drafting, signing Colvin...

They're waiting for the new CBA before the lock up Seymore long term, looks like they could be 10mil under the cap this off-season, will be interesting to see what they do. I figure Givens is done, simply because someone will give him #1 WR type money and the Pats wont.

I assumed you were joking, but wasn't sure on Mr. MM so I figured I'd link.

Was actually tough to find since he didn't play last year, the NFL has his stats but not his name via an old link.

Based on most early mock drafts, it looks like the Vikings and the Colts are going to be choosing between Maroney and the guy from Memphis (name slips my mind.)

If both are available for the Vikes, I would be surprised if they passed on Maroney, just based on the hometown thing. Like when the Lynx wouldn't trade up and get Lindsey Whalen. Also, I don't think Maroney is the best fit for the Colts (ie he wouldn't look cool in their uniforms)

By the way, Marion Barbed III is a huge badass in the Cowboys uniforms. The cool part about him is that he is actually from Minnesota, not just some import from Ohio like the rest of the Gophers.

Another amusing tidbit, a guy from my high school signed with the Gophers last week and is probably Caputo's heir apparent. I was just scanning and looking through the Big 10 for other Minnesotans, and he was Minnesota's third best sign but on Ohio State he would have been one of the bottom five. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Would it be your Cum or someone elses? (just trying to figure out how far you'd go to get White)

Also, I'm pretty sure the Colts pick #30.

I've seen a mock where they think Maroney could slip to Indy simply because not many teams will be looking for a RB in round #1.

I've also seen him predicted as high as #10 going to Arizona.

Ok, get this silly game over with and start the draft talk...

Freeney should have won defensive player of the year. I mean think about it. Teams all year long were using 2-3 men to block Dwight Freeney. It totally opened up our defense. Robert Mathis who is a situational pass rusher was one of the league leaders in sacks. Freeney was the most feared defender in the league by far. QB's and Offensive lines didnt know what was worse. Freeney exploding past his 1-2 blockers and steamrolling towards them or the other 2 defensive lineman who are steamrolling towards them because Freeney is being blocked by 3 blockers. Teams were showing new formations specifically designed for that game against the Colts to stop Freeney and he still got 11 sacks. I havent seen something like that in a while. And you know what they say " If not Freeney , Bob Sanders "

Trent Green had a good season, but Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer and Tom Brady beat him out in the Pro Bowl voting. But Brady pulled out, and Green was tabbed to make his second appearance in the NFL's all-star game.
