I gotta hand it to WWE. For a main event that looks pretty weak on paper, they're doing a really good job of making all three guys look like viable threats to win the match.

Backlash is actually shaping up to be pretty good.

The Triple Threat is being booked well. All three guys have looked strong on their own in the handicap matches, and each one picked up a "clean" victory over one of their opponents, with each one taking one fall. While I'm still pretty sure we'll either see HHH get it or Cena turn heel and retain, WWE has me suspending my disbelief and thinking that Edge actually has a shot.

The Women's Title match is being booked as well as the women's division has been in...well...ever. Trish and Mickie are both beautiful women, yes, but they're also great in-ring talents and they play their characters so well. The new wrinkle of Mickie "becoming" Trish and Trish "becoming" Mickie makes this that much more interesting. Now, if only they could book the Cruiserweight Title like this.

Kane vs. Big Show isn't going to be a technical masterpiece in the vein of Savage/Steamboat or Hart/Hennig, but it's being built up well. Kane's little psychotic episode this week is a good step toward getting Kane back to monster status. And I like the thought of the Big Show - of all people - trying to be the one to talk him down. I was really happy there were no "voices" tonight, because that had me worried last week.

I really don't know where they're going with RVD vs. Shelton. I think it's pretty clear that they want RVD to cash in MITB at One Night Stand, but throwing the IC Title into the mix is an interesting touch. Does RVD win the WWE and IC belts at the same time this summer? Do RVD and Shelton trade the IC belt back and forth, building both men to the main event? And where does Charlie Haas now fit into all this?

I hope they go somewhere with Matt Striker involved in the Carlito/Chris Masters feud, but I doubt they will. It's a pity, because he plays a great heel. It's pretty clear that Carlito is carrying his feud with the Masterpiece, but it still doesn't keep it from being interesting. Carlito is certainly going to be part of the next generation of WWE stars, and remember The Rock started by feuding with The Sultan.

And, finally, God's tag match. They had me worried when Vince cut his (no pun intended) god-awful promo to start the show, but they redeemed themselves with the pyro display. I'm sure that we'll find out in a week or so that Vince himself had that pyro set up just to further play with HBK's head, but it was kind of a cool moment. I still think Foley is going to wind up being "God," but the DX reunion tease makes for a good casual swerve.

I'd say RVD wins via DQ or something like that where the belt doesn't change hands. Not sure though... they might just give him the title so they don't have to do anything with it for two months, and RVD would go into ONS with momentum, since he'd be a champ, and then he might win the WWE belt and own the two highest RAW belts at the same time (so we'd be led to hope).

I'm thinking after a long, close match, RVD nails the 5 *. But instead of pinning him, he picks him up, nails a Van Daminator (gets DQd), and then hits the Van Terminator. He then goes on a little rant about being extreme, not needing the IC title, because he'll be fighting for the world title at ECW ONS.

I've heard that Cena is expected to turn heel and drop the belt to RVD at ONS. It would be cool to see RVD throw Cena's bling bling belt in the garbage, and bring out his own belt, the old ECW title. He could proclaim himself the "ECW champion". This feud could be really good I believe. Cena will be loads fresher with a heel turn, and maybe him losing the title for a while is the best thing for his career.
