Anyone ever read John Buccigross' articles on ESPN.com?
This one is from this past Sunday (during the NY/Buffalo game) http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/column...t&lid=tab2pos3 |

Devils drop their fourth straight. This time in a shootout to the Kings. They are really struggling, but they did get two power play goals tonight, so maybe their power play will start going.

What did everyone think of the Oveckhin hit against Briere the other night? I thought it was defintetly a pentaly, but I don't think he really meant harm by it.

I was at the game, there was like a split second delay between the move and the horn, or at least it seemed that way at the game, because I remember seeing the move and thiking wow nice little move there (not expecting anything to come of it) then the goal horn went off and I realised the puck went in, I couldn't believe it, just an awesome thing to see live.

Anybody see Bouchard's shootout goal versus Chicago Tuesday night? He did a spinarama and scored, and it was funny as it was against Dens Savard and the Blackhawks of all teams. Coolness.

I just can't watch the Canucks anymore. Ever since I moved to BC, I've tried to (and did) make them my team. I came here as a Habs fan, they always remained my "2nd" favourite team as I "made" Vancouver my team... I find however I enjoy, actually always have, watching the Habs over the Canucks. Sure when Bure and Linden were rookies, it was easier to follow the Canucks, them trading for Naslund and him blossoming was awesome. They are however, and almost always have been, frustrating to watch. There is something wrong with the chemistry of the team. I don't just mean now, but always. Something at the grass roots is wrong with this organization. For me, they will remain a team to lightly follow, I wish them well, but I cannot suppress my desire to openly root once again for Les Habitant.
There, I said it. Last edited by YOUR Hero; 12-06-2006 at 09:43 PM. |

Great story naming Mike Modano as the greatest US-born hockey player ever. |

LOL, not going to read that, but come on, he's a mental case a lot of the time, he's been stripped of his Dallas captaincy, etc. If that's supposed to = the best US hockey player ever, then shame on the writer of that story.

I decided to click it and read it. Can't read it because I'm not an SI subscriber. copy/paste it.
What I do get to see is that it mentions the captaincy thing. I'll bet the article talks simply about stats, and not much more. |

Joe Mullen, Brian Leetch, Chris Chelios, Joe Carpenter, the aforementioned Pat Lafontaine. All these guys were better than Modano. It's not all about scoring points. Shit, he's just a point a game guy anyway...

I left off goalies, not sure I'd put them ahead of Modano, Richter maybe. |

Fucking Bruins lost 5-1 last night. What worries me is Thomas, I don't think he's consistent, he goes on streaks but that's it.

Thomas is pretty shit actually. He doesn't really have any business being a #1 goalie in the NHL.
