I didn't know about it either during the first draft and I was browsing the SP in the late rounds looking for a sleeper and saw Liriano and immediately thought it was too good to be true. Something had to be up so I did a quick google search and saw he was out.

I honestly don't know, I would assume however that you get points for 'good' stats i.e. extra bases, RBI's, SB's etc and lose points for 'bad' stats i.e. LOB, K's, GIDP. And I would also assume the same applies to pitching

Yeah pretty sure I got it sussed now.

You remember how Hero picked those stats to use at the start of whole fantasy deal (H, R, HR, RBI, TB etc for hitting, ERA, WHIP etc for pitching), well anyway you play a "game" against your fantasy opponents, whoever is better in each stat gets a "run" for that stat, and whoever has more runs at the end of the week gets the W.

Nah, you should be fine. For the first week or so, Yahoo has live scoring, so whenever someone does something it adds to your total, so your totals will rise and fall during the day. After the live scoring ends it'll update daily.
