So they were talking about Jakie Robinson day and all that. Then they put up a little graph that totally blew me away. Did you know. African American only make up 8% of MLB's players. Wow. It's gone from 27% in the mid 80's to 17% in 2000 to what it is right now.

I don't get why its matters, its still a huge mix of players from all different backgrounds.

I don't see anyone getting mad about the lack of white people in the NBA. I dunno, I can see the argument for African American coaches in the NFL and things like that but I really don't see the problem with MLB.

I am with Stima on the whole 8 percent thing. I mean it is a bit low, but it isn't too disproportional from the population, and there are tonns of latino, asian, and other minorities in the game. Fuck, Mike Piazza is Italian. But other minorities are really beyond the point and now I am just rambling.

First we have Cleveland and our starting pitchers are Chase Wright, Igawa and Rasner. Then we have Boston and the best case scenario is Pettitte, Karstens and Wang. Karstens and Wang aren't definitely going to be ready by then so it could be very ugly.

Yeah but, you're coming up against the 2-3-4 of the Indians rotation (Westbrook, Sowers, Carmona), which is in truth, not really that hot once you get past Sabathia.

Westbrook and Sowers have both had trouble with their control so far, so it could be brutal against the Yankees lineup

Westbrook v Wright today's probably gonna be a run-fest

Seriously. Three strong starts with two weak offense performances. This better not become a routine thing.

Also I wish Lugo hadn't let that ball through and made a double play. Would have been 2 runs easily avoided.

I don't think Kinsler is gonna hit 50 homers but he's definitely much better than Shelton. I mean Shelton's collapse was unheard of but he came out of nowhere to have a fluke month and then his real talent came through the rest of the year. Kinsler's actually supposed to be a star.

Charlie Manuel tried to fight Howard Eskin who hosts a radio show and is actually a reporter for local news. I find it to be hilarious.
