In regards to reports of hacking and cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online, we are working on a fix that will remove any GTA$ gained through these blatant exploits, as well as prevent this from happening in the future. We'll also be taking appropriate measures very soon to punish anyone that we've discovered manipulating GTA Online in this manner (as we've stated previously, players who have received large sums of GTA$ but not engaged in any game manipulating through exploits can rest assured knowing they have nothing to fear).
The company also once again reassured that players do not have to worry about being punished if all they did was received money from the hackers. A request can be submitted to the support staff to adjust the cash balance if they don’t want to wait for a future “GTA 5” patch for to automatically solve the problem. The second part of the statement is located below:

If you have been gifted a large sum of money or collected a large bounty and would like to have the money removed from your account immediately, you can submit a request to Rockstar Support to have your balance properly adjusted. Otherwise, the money you've been gifted will be removed once our upcoming fix is in place.
Finally, Rockstar Games provided a few reporting tips for players who encountered the hackers and other types of cheaters. The company suggested that they should use the in-game reporting tools to alert the appropriate staff members. You can find some screenshots from “GTA Online” in the slideshow on the left-hand side of this article and the instructions below:

Furthermore, if you encounter someone that is taking advantage of exploits in your GTA Online session, you can alert us directly by using the in-game reporting functionality. In the Pause menu, under the Online tab, select Players and scroll to the offending player. From there, select Report and choose Exploits from the violation options. We appreciate the community's support and understanding as we work to address these issues and apologize for all inconvenience caused.
The money hacks are occurring in both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 iterations of the “GTA Online” section of “GTA 5,” hurting the balance of the multiplayer mode.

The servers were shit tonight. I'm gonna get on again in a bit.

On the plus side, I haven't seen as many ourageous bounties at all. They must be starting to crack down on cheaters. As of right now, I still have everything so they haven't started removing gifted money and such.

Same as always. The Creation tool has made things a bit better though. I haven't seen much in the way of money hacking, which is good.

Something needs to happen. I didn't bother finishing the story, I just couldn't get into it. Online got old really quick like whitey said and call me negative nancy but I don't see the heists being even near what everyone wants.

I bought an Adder, Cheetah, Buzzard, a Rhino and an Army Jeep to try to use what I have...didn't even dent it. Spending most of my time in the Job Creator now.

Their latest patch must have stomped out alot of the hackers as I haven't seen a Bounty over $9,000 in weeks.

If anyone's interested, or haven't heard yet, Rockstar has pretty much removed all modded money. If you've received money from other players, chances are it's gone now.

I went from having about 2.7 billion yesterday to just 50 grand as of this afternoon when I was able to log back in. The kids are crying hard about it at the Rockstar Social Club.
