Can someone explain the whole not being able to have a DH in Colorado thing to me??

The NL doesn't have a DH. So when you play in a NL park there is no DH the pitcher bats just like how the NL does it.

There's talk of each of them sitting 1 game.

Ortiz plays 1st base 2x.

Youke plays 1st 1x and 3rd 1x

Lowell plays 3rd 2x

But who knows, a lot depends on Ortiz knee and the game, I see Ortiz at first and if the sox jump out to a big lead they pull him and bring in Youke.

So, if Ortiz starts at first he is in the lineup, but they have the option to pull him at anytime, putting You back into the line up??

Why not just start Youklis and if they need Ortiz to hit, just pull You and let Ortiz take his place in the rotation?? With a system like that, it seems easy to cheat the rules and still let both take turns at bat..

Because late in the game defense can be more important in a close game, so you'd want your better defensive guy late in the game.

Also, if you assume Ortiz (based on history) is the more dangerous hitter you'd want him to start.

They can also start Ortiz at 1st, Youke at 3rd and then if the game is close late, put Lowell in at 3rd and move youke to 1st taking Ortiz out of the game, but once he's out he can't come back.
